LIBRARY FUND DRIVE

The money is part of $300,000 part to be used to expand and improve the Blacksburg branch. Construction is currently underway.

Co-chairing the fundraising effort are Joan Munford, former area to the General Assembly, and Nan Heavener. Also on the Individual Gifts Committee are Bette Bohlin, Darrel Clowes, Joanne Echols, Dan Fleming, Pat Frizzell, Dorothy Hull, Nancy Leach, Sallie Mabie, Ken Martin, Karen Pappas, Al Payne, and Virle Payne.

The committee's goal is $50,000 by the end of September. Since beginning their work In August, the members have received pledges that total more than $20,000, Munford said.

"Everyone is working so hard. It's a dynamite committee," she said.
