SHOOTOUT FIELD SET FOR SENIORS

The addition of Graham Marsh and George Archer completes the 10-man field for the Merrill Lynch Senior Shoot-Out Championship, which will be played Tuesday on the par-70 Cascades course at The Homestead in Hot Springs.

The field for the $500,000, nine-hole event, which begins at 11 a.m., includes six of the top 10 money winners on the 1995 Senior PGA Tour. In addition to Marsh (No.7) and Archer (No.9), the players include Dave Stockton and Jim Colbert, ranked 1-2 in winnings, J.C. Snead of Hot Springs (No.5) and Jim Albus, ranked 10th.

The other entries are 1995 U.S. Senior Open champ Tom Weiskopf, Hale Irwin, 1992 Senior Open champ Larry Laoretti and Bruce Crampton. Weiskopf is 14th in winnings; Irwin 19th. The alternate is Tom Wargo, 11th in Senior money. Wargo also will play in the Monday pro-am.

Tuesday's event, free to the public, will be taped by ESPN for airing on Christmas afternoon. The Shootout format has all 10 golfers starting on the first hole, with the highest scorer on each hole eliminated until two are left to play No.9. The winner earns $130,000.

The Homestead will charge $10 per car for parking, with courtesy transportation from lots to the course.
