Job fair at Tech

BLACKSBURG - Expo '95, an annual job fair and technology showcase sponsored by the Student Engineers' Council at Virginia Tech, will be Sept. 19 and 20.

The event will be in Squires Student Center from noon to 5 p.m. Sept. 19 and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 20.

More than 100 companies will attend. Call 231-6036.

Home school picnic

Blacksburg - "Back to school" means a stroll to the kitchen or den for the New River Valley children that are educated at home. A picnic for home schoolers is Friday at 6 p.m. at Caboose Park on Turner Street. A support network, a newsletter, group book orders, home-schooled Girl Scouts, tours to local businesses, monthly square dances, and meetings at the pool will be discussed. Lecture at RU

RADFORD - An expert on foreign policy will deliver a lecture at Radford University today at 7:30 p.m. in the Commonwealth Room, Heth Hall.

Professor Yvan Vanden Berghe, chairman of the history and political science department at the University of Antwerp, Belgium, will visit the campus for two weeks as part of an exchange program. The event is free.

Watermelon feast

BLACKSBURG - Republican candidates for local offices and the House of Delegates will meet and talk with citizens at a watermelon feast tonight at 6:30 at Nellies Cave Park.

Majic 105 at festival

CHRISTIANSBURG - Majic 105 and Dean Tyler will broadcast live from the the Wilderness Trail Festival at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16. The Majic 105 "Majic Box" will also be there. Prizes, including a $15,000 award, will be given out.

Later that morning, Majic 105 will have its second Tech Connection pre-game tailgate party starting at 10 a.m. outside of Lane Stadium before the Virginia Tech-Cincinnati football game.

Ralph Stewart will broadcast live at 10 a.m. with interviews with players and coaches. Free food will be provided by Macados.
