BEAMER, Hester Broyles, 87, of Narrows, died Tuesday, September 12, 1995, in the Riverview Nursing Home. She was born at Peterstown, W.Va., on May 8, 1908, and was the daughter of the late Lonnie and Vergie Midkiff Broyles. She was a member of the Valley Presbyterian Church and was a retired School Teacher, having retired after 40 years of teaching in the Giles County School System. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian S. Beamer, a son, Julian S. Beamer Jr., and a granddaughter, Julia Sharon Beamer. She is survived by a granddaughter, Jeannie B. Templin. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday in the Chapel of Riffe's Funeral Service in Narrows with the Rev. Don Clements officiating. Burial will follow in the Peterstown Cemetery. The Gathering of friends will be Wednesday from 6 to 7 p.m. at Riffe's in Narrows.

CLEMENTS, Annie Mae, 66, of Rocky Mount, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 1995. Arrangements by Stanfield Mortuary Service, Rocky Mount.

CROCKETT, Josephine Littleton, 74, of Roanoke, died Tuesday, September 12, 1995 in a Roanoke hospital. She was a member of The Junior League, The Roanoke Assembly and The Roanoke Valley Garden Club. Surviving are her husband, Dr. Charles L. Crockett, Jr., Roanoke; three daughters and one son-in-law, Katherine S. Harrison, Roanoke, Sarah C. Eggleston and John C. Eggleston, Glen Ridge, N.J., Cynthia C. Webster, Marietta, Ga.; one son, Charles L. Crockett, III., and his wife Elizabeth W. Crockett, Winston Salem, N.C.; six grandchildren, Lisa and Scott Harrison, Paige and Cary Eggleston, Mildred and C. Lucian Crockett, IV. The funeral services will be conducted at Second Presbyterian Church, 10:30 a.m. Friday, with Dr. William Klein officiating. A private family burial will be in Evergreen Burial Park. The family suggests that memorials be made to, Second Presbyterian Church Fund or the Ronald McDonald House. Fri ends may call at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

DELLIS, Ronald Wayne, 49, of Roanoke, died Tuesday, September 12, 1995. Funeral services 12 p.m. Thursday, September 14, 1995, Lotz Vinton Chapel.

FAIRFAX, Joseph Leonard, 63, of Roanoke, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 1995. Survivors include his wife, Alice R. Fairfax and one son, Joseph L. Fairfax Jr., both of Roanoke; two daughters, Deborah (Nosworthy) Reid, Roanoke, Joann (James) Grace, Bridgeport, Conn.; three brothers, William N. (Louise) Fairfax, Salem, John (Audrey) Fairfax Jr., Philadelphia, Pa., Carl L. (Jean) Fairfax, Bridgeport, Conn.; three sisters, Esther (John) Newby, Winston-Salem, N.C., Betty (Elmer) Chesney, Sanford, N.C., Dorothy Chesney, Raleigh, N.C.; two grandchildren, Janie and Jacee Grace, Bridgeport, Conn.; a goddaughter, Shonda Donald, Del.; a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in Williams Memorial Park.

FERGUSON, Jabe Showalter, (``Butch""), 33, of Rural Retreat, formerly of Narrows, died this past weekend. Butch was raised in Narrows, the beloved and only son of Jabe Showalter Jr. and Myrtle Rice Ferguson. A graduate of Narrows High School, where he was a valued member of the Green Wave athletic teams in football and all other sports. Butch was currently employed as a master welder at Dalton Enterprises in Rural Retreat. Butch is perhaps best remembered as a large, fun-loving, boyish man whose crooked mischievous grin was crowned by a flame of red hair. He will be greatly missed. In addition to his parents of Narrows, he is survived by his wife, Louise Grubb Ferguson, and a daughter, Kellie Nicole Ferguson, Rural Retreat; his sister, Kay F. Bechtel, Charlottesville, VA; his grandmother, Vernon Booth Ferguson, Roanoke. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 15, 19 95, 2 p.m. in the chapel of Riffe's Funeral Service in Narrows with Rev. Rick Painter officiating. Relatives and friends may call at Riffe's Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m.

FULCHER, Mary Thurston, 79, of Roanoke, died Tuesday, September 12, 1995. Surviving are her husband, Maxwell S. Fulcher; a son and daughter-in-law, David L. and Connie A. Thurston, Salem; daughter and son-in-law, Mary T. and Mark Naegele, Cincinnati, Ohio; five grandchildren, Daryl and Jessica Thurston, Melissa, Marshall, and Maverick Naegele; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert E. and Mae H. Ours, Weston, W.Va. Funeral services will be conducted at Lotz Roanoke Chapel 12 noon Friday, September 15, 1995, with Rev. Henry D. Scoggins officiating. Interment in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. GOFF, Reba E., 71, of Morgantown, W.Va., died Tuesday, September 12, 1995, in Morgantown. Surviving are her husband Ross William Goff; four sons, David, Larry, Jeffrey and Phillip; one daughter, Carolyn Stout; two brothers, Robert and Donald Smith; 12 grandchildren. Friends may call at Hastings Funeral Home, Morgantown, W.Va. Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m, Friday 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held Saturday at Spruce St. United Methodist Church, Morgantown at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at East Oak Grove Cemetery, Morgantown.

KAHLE, Anna Rosalie, 87, of Vinton, died Tuesday, September 12, 1995 at a local hospital. She was the widow of Elijah Fletcher Kahle, and was preceded in death by a daughter, Anne Gillette Foley. Surviving are a daughter, Kemlee K. White, Alexandria; three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Marsha Kahle, Vinton, Joe and Patty Kahle, Charlotte, N.C., and Elijah and Jackie Kahle, Winchester, Ind.; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Catherine Bergeron, Roanoke; brother and sister-in-law, James Lee and Betty Lou Gill, Richmond. A memorial service will be at the Christ Episcopal Church 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Deborah Hentz Hunley officiating. Interment will be at the West End Cemetery in Wytheville at 3 p.m. Friday. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to a favorite charity. The family will receive friends at the sons home, Robert, at 1007 Claiborne Ave., Vinton, from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.

LEVINE, Martin Henry, 46, of Christiansburg, died Tuesday, September 12, 1995, in the Montgomery Regional Hospital. He was a Doctor of Chiropractic and also had taught at Roanoke College and New River Community College. He is survived by his wife, Sharon A. Levine; his children, Ethan Daniel Levine, K.J. Levine, Hillary Levine and Keith Levine, all of the home; his parents, Charles and Ruth Levine, Delray Beach, Fla.; a sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Robert Pinco, Gaithersburg, Md. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. mary's Catholic Church in Blacksburg, conducted by Father Donald Lemay with burial in Westview Cemetery in Blacksburg. A Prayer Vigil service will be observed Thursday evening at 7:40 p.m. at the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home. The family requests flowers be omitted and memorials made to Roanoke College, 2 21 College Lane, Salem, VA 24153 to establish a scholarship fund in Dr. Levine's memory. ROSE, Donna Ellen Steele, 64, of Route 1, Austinville, the Bethany Community, died Monday, September 11, 1995, from injuries received in an automobile accident. She was born in Grainton, Neb., the daughter of the late Sherman and Lulu Schimp Steele. She was a member of the Brick United Methodist Church, and a member of the Viva Health Club and A.A.R.P. She is survived by her husband, James R. (``Jack'') Rose of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Scot and Darla Carter, Draper; Randal and Cheryl Carter, U. S. Navy; one sister, Elsie Barrs, Grant, Neb.; three grandchildren, Ayesha Carter, Jennifer Carter, Wendy Carter; two great-grandchildren, Megan Carter, Caleb Carter. Funer al services will be held Friday, September 15, 1995 at 2:00 p.m. at the Barnett Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy Morris officiating. Interment will follow in the Sanders Cemetery. STATON, Seldon S., 72, of Vinton, died Tuesday, September 12, 1995, in a local nursing home. Mr. Staton was a member of Vinton Baptist Church and was retired from Holdren's. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dixie Lee Staton and a brother, Charles Staton. Surviving are his wife, Peggy Irene ``Granny"" Staton; daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Joe Spigel; grandchildren, Travis and Leah Beth Spigel; brother and sister-in-law, Trent and Mary Jo Staton, all of Vinton; sister and brother-in-law, Ollie T. and Jerry Moede, Hendersonville, N.C. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's Vinton Chapel 1 p.m. Friday with Dr. William L. Ross, Rev. Kevin Meadows and Rev. David Elks officiating. WATKINS, John Paul Sr., 76, of Roanoke, passed away Sunday, September 10, 1995, at the Virginia Veterans Care Center. He was born in Millboro on April 24, 1919, a son of the late James Samuel and Cora Early Watkins. He was a member of the Deacon Board at Siloma Baptist Church, Millboro. He was employed at Goshen Elementary School, where he retired, and also was an employee of Burke-Parson-Howley Corp. He was a devoted member of Morning Star Baptist Church, Roanoke. He is survived by four daughters, Linda M. Watkins, Lillian Q. Godfrey, Roanoke, Gloria J. Watkins, Texas, Gracie C. Watkins, Connecticut; three sons, John Paul Watkins Jr., Maryland, William D. Watkins, Millboro, Robert L. Watkins, Connecticut; a cousin, Lloyd Watkins, Clifton Forge; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; two devoted friends, Marie Davis and Teri Jones, and a devoted nurse, Brenda Keeling. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 16, 1995 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hamlar-Curtis Chapel, with the Rev. L. A. Lewis officiating. Burial in Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Millboro. The family will receive friends one half hour before the service Saturday.
