MANY THANKS, A TIP OF THE HAT, MUCH OBLIGED ...

To Chateau Morrisette, which provided the settings - a terrace, the stone facade and pastoral views of Floyd County - for many of the photos in today's Fall Fashion Section. David Morrisette's winery, on the Blue Ridge Parkway near Meadows of Dan, also provided refreshments and allowed its main office to be used as a dressing room for our models.

To Roanoke County's Explore Park, where wooded trails, historic buildings and split-rail fences provided further backdrops against which to photograph the fall fashions. Explore's Andrea Bork made arrangements for the shoot and saw to it that our models had an air-conditioned space in which to change.

To staff writers Katherine Reed, Lisa Garcia, Almena Hughes and Matt Chittum, and to Garcia and Lisa Applegate for assisting with logistics and copy-reading.

To Darrell Edwards for the pre-press work on our color photos.

Besides taking all local photographs and writing part of the copy, Stephanie Klein-Davis was in charge of the section. The layout is by Ann Mansfield and Tim Van Riper of the Roanoke Times design desk, and Graphics Director Steve Stinson designed our cover.
