Unlike earlier forums, this one is sponsored by nonpartisan groups: the League of Women Voters of Montgomery County, and government classes at Blacksburg High School.
Candidates in the New River Valley's key House and Senate races will speak and take questions submitted from the audience.
Those candidates include incumbent Democrat Jim Shuler and Republican challenger Larry Linkous in the 12th District House of Delegates race and incumbent Democrat Madison Marye and Republican challenger Pat Cupp in the 39th District state Senate contest.
Del. Morgan Griffith, D-Salem, who represents a portion of Montgomery County, also will appear, even though he is unopposed in his race.
The forum is open to the public and also will be televised live on WTOB [Blacksburg Cable channel 2].
The town's municipal building is at the corner of South Main and Washington streets.
