BODELL, Beulah Hubbard, 92, of Blacksburg, died Friday, September 15, 1995 at Heritage Hall Health Care Center. Born in Floyd County on October 15, 1902, she was a daughter of the late Rufus and Maggie Dillon Hubbard. Mrs. Bodell was employed at V.P.I. & S.U. for 20 years, and a member of Blacksburg United Methodist Church for 70 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward Bodell Sr., and a son, Dr. Charles E. Bodell Jr. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Dorothy Bodell, Blacksburg; daughter-in-law, Jean Bodell, Shenandoah; one sister, Mary Hylton, Blacksburg; four grandsons; two granddaughters; four great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters. A graveside service will be held today, September 17, 1995 at 2 p.m. in Westview Cemetery with the Rev. Johnny Loughridge officiating. The family will receive friends today from 1 to 1:45 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home.

BROWN, McKinley Truein Sr., 52, of Roanoke, departed this life here on earth to be with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on Friday, September 15, 1995. He was the beloved husband of Ann Maria Dyke Brown and the son of Anconia Lucille Brown and the late Truein Brown. He is survived by five children, McKinley Jr., Curtis Wayne, Rodney Lee, Nicole Denise and Kristel Lynn Brown, all of Roanoke; three brothers, Edmund G. Brown, Goodview, James O. Brown, Roanoke; and a dedicated brother and best friend, William J. Brown, Roanoke; two sisters, Peggy (Alonzo) Younger, Bedford and Joyce D. Bonds, Roanoke; sister-in-law, Jacqueline Y. (Gene) Boyd, Hampton; brothers-in-law, Carroll E. Dyke Sr., Richmond, William R. Dyke III, Orlando, Fla., George D. Dyke Sr., Lynchburg, and Raymond E. Dyke Sr., Roanoke; three uncles, Thomas Brown, Roanoke, Henry Brown, Paterson, N.J., and Robert Brown, Victoria, Va.; one aunt, Ruby Coley, Paterson, N.J.; fourteen grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 19, 1995, at 1 p.m. at the Green Spring Baptist Church, Goodview, Va., with the Rev. Ray Arrington officiating and burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Hamlar-Curtis Chapel.

CALLOWAY, Gracie Lee, 67, of Roanoke, passed away Thursday, September 14, 1995. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, September 18, 1995, at the Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home, with the Rev. HOUNSHELL, Samuel G. Jr., 74, of 933 Crescent Dr., Glade Spring, died Thursday, September 14, 1995 at his residence. He was a life-long resident of Glade Spring and attended Abingdon High School. He was a member of Mount Calvary United Holiness Church. Survivors include one son,Henry Hounshell, Pungoteaque, Va.; daughter, Mrs. Stella H. Thomas, Glade Spring; brother,DanielHounshell, Glade Spring; ten grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Fuenral service 2 p.m. Monday at Mount Calvary United Holiness Church, with elder Kenneth Carter officiating. Burial in Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery. HUNTER, George Alexander, 54, of Tustin, Calif., died Wednesday, September 13, 1995. He was born in Roanoke on May 28, 1941. He graduated from Lucy Addison Senior High. He was a long time employee of Abbey Road Record Distributors in Santa Ana, Calif. He is survived by one brother, Jackie Hunter; one cousin; five nieces; one nephew; three great-nieces; five great-nephews; a wealth of friends. Funeral services will be held at Angelus Funeral Home, 3875 Crenshaw Blvd., Los Angeles, Calif., Saturday, September 23, at 1 p.m.

KEGLEY, Mallie Williams, 91, of Nebo, widow of Thomas J. Kegley Sr., died Friday, September 15, 1995, in Smyth County Community Hospital. Mrs. Kegley was a member of Ezelle United Methodist Church in Nebo for most of her life and was superintendent of Sunday school for many years. She was a correspondent for the Smyth County News for 73 years, and was a former Smyth County school teacher. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Charles and Bill Kegley; two daughters, Virginia and Christine Kegley, and one grandson, Kenneth E. Kegley. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Alma and Bob Hubble, Nebo, Ann and Walter Braun, Belleville, Ill., Rosemary and Ronnie Poskas, Majestic, Ky.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Byron and Barbara Kegley, Joe and Debbie Kegley, Tom Kegley Jr., Nebo; 16 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, September 18, 1995, at Zion United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Bill Schoeneman and the Rev. Dale Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery in Nebo. The body will be taken to the church one hour before the service. McCLURE, Shirley Celestine Lilly, 81, of Blue Ridge, died Thursday, September 14, 1995. She was a member of Montvale Baptist Church since 1947, and was retired from the Kroger Company. She was an honorary life member of the Old Dominion Knife Collector's Association. Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Lacy C. McClure; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Germaine McClure, Decatur, Ill., Kenneth and Debbie McClure, Roanoke, Carlton Wayne (Cottie) and Donna McClure, Villamont; daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Dick Orr, Kingsport, Tenn.; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Trelee and Betty Lilly, Hinton, W.Va.; a sister, Gladys Lilly, Sophia, W.Va.; special sister-in-law, Mazie Nichols, Blue Ridge; special brother-in-law, E. MUSSELMAN, Lucy Doyle, 78, of Roanoke, died Friday, September 15, 1995, at her residence, following a long and courageous battle with ovarian cancer. A member of First Wesleyan Methodist Church since 1937, Mrs. Musselman taught Sunday School in the Children's Department many of those years. She worked with the City of Roanoke Childs' Evangelism in her community prior to becoming a nurse's assistant. She retired in 1990 from Gill Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Musselman taught ceramics in her home since 1964, sharing her talent and love for the art with students, family, and friends. She is survived by her friend of sixty years, Ellis A. Musselman; two daughters, Marie M. Pack, Hampton, Va., and June M. Gregonis, Durham, N.C.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by five sisters, Mrs. Lacie C. Walters, Blacksburg, Mrs. Charles L. Wheeling, Shawsville, Mrs. Claude K. Sawyers and Mrs. Jack J. Elliott, Christiansburg, Mrs. Woodrow W. Wolfe, Pasadena, Md. She also leaves behind many loving and cherished friends of a lifetime. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lotz Funeral Home, Franklin Road. A graveside service will be held noon Monday, September 18, 1995, at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. Dr. Dale Holloway will officiate. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 9 E. QUILLEN, Maude C., 98, of Marion, died Saturday, September 16, 1995, in Smyth County Community Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, M. C. Quillen and four sons, Grover howard Quillen, Leo Cole Quillen, Robert Hoover Quillen and Joseph Ward Quillen. Survivors include one daughter, Hazel F. Hopkins, Marion; three daughters-in-law, Doris Quillen, Welston, Mich., Shirley Quillen and Ardenia Quillen, both of Marion; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 36 great-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m from Barnett's Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Avery Sheets and the Rev. David Neitch officiating. Burial will follow in the Thomas Cemetery. SCAMMON, Richard B., 72, of Roanoke, died Thursday, September 14, 1995. He was a veteran of World War II, where he received a Purple Heart. He was a graduate of the University of New Hampshire and member of Lambda Chi Alpha. Mr. Scammon retired from General Electric as an electrical engineer. Surviving are his wife, Alva H. Scammon; daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Michael Mazzaro, Nashua, N.H., Nancy and Gary Jaquay, Fredericksburg; four grandchildren, Scott and Sara Mazzaro, Joyce and Jennie Jaquay; sister-in-law, Joyce Hiller, Naples, Fla.; brother-in-law, Vernon R. SHUFF, Edward Lee, 72, of Roanoke, died Friday, September 15, 1995. He was a retired accountant with U.S. Steel and an Army Air Corp veteran of World War II.
