Elizabeth Anne Wimmer and Charles William Basham were married on September 16, 1995, at the home of the groom's parents in Botetourt County. The outdoor ceremony was performed by Rev. Leonard Southern, pastor of Fort Lewis Baptist Church.

The maid of honor was Becky Mabes and bridesmaids were Nicole Holdren and Jeannie Mabes. The flower girl was Erin Basham, niece of the groom. Groomsmen were Tommy Jennings, Steve Spencer and Mike Waddell.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark F. Wimmer, Jr. She is a graduate of Radford University and is employed by Rubatex. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles David Basham and is employed by United Parcel Service.

After a honeymoon trip to the Bahamas, the newlyweds will reside in Roanoke County.

\ Bivens-Plumley

Melissa Ann Plumley and Danny Lee Bivens were married August 19, 1995 at Lakeside Baptist Church with Reverend Art Hearne officiating. The reception was held at the home of the groom's parents.

The bride is the daughter of Mary Ann and Raymond L. Plumley, Sr. of Beckley, West Virginia. Melissa's grandparents are Ban a Plumley and the late Carlos Plumley and the late Mary Louise and Robert Curtis Brewer. Melissa is a graduate of Shady Spring High School and is employed by Walmart in Colonial Heights.

The groom is the son of Charlotte and Ronnie L. Bivens of Roanoke. Danny's grandparents are Dorothy Pruett Weeks and the late Wilbert W. Pruett of Salem and Mary Ellen and L.C. Bivens of Roanoke. Danny is a graduate of Northside High School and is an Assistant Manager for Sam's Club in Colonial Heights.

After the honeymoon at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, the couple will live in Colonial Heights, Virginia.

\ Brooks-Barker

Amanda Kristie Barker and James Andrew Brooks were married September 16, 1995, in Shiloh Union United Methodist Church. The Rev. R. C. Wagner officiated. The reception was held at the Catawba Community Center.

The maid of honor was Melanie Berline, cousin of the bride. The bridesmaid was Sharon Heptinstall, cousin of the bride . Flower girl was Jamie Barker, daughter of the bride. The bride was escorted by Roger Barker, her uncle.

The best man was Douglas Berline, cousin-in-law of the bride. The ushers were Timmy Slayton, brother of the groom, and Christopher Barker, cousin of the bride. Ringbearer was Derrick Campbell, son of a family friend.

The bride is the daughter of Ms. Susan Barker of Salem, Va. The groom is the son of Ms. Kim Conley of Elliston, Va., and Mr. James Brooks of Mechanicsville, Va.

After honeymooning in Myrtle Beach, S. C., the newlyweds will reside in the Roanoke Valley.

\ Brower-Thompson

Sandra Ann Thompson and Ronald Aaron Brower were married in a candlelight ceremony on August 26, 1995, at Pilgrim Baptist Church. Reverend Matthew T. Barnette and Reverend Dwight O. Steele, Sr., united the happy couple. The reception was held at Holiday Inn, Salem.

Helen Thompson Belcher, sister of the bride, was the Matron of Honor. The bridesmaids were Vickie and Judy Thompson, sisters of the bride; Bonita and Karen Brower, sisters of the groom; Tonya Johnson, cousin of the bride. The pretty little flowergirls were Tia and Kenya Thompson, nieces of the bride.

Wesley Bright, best friend of the groom, served as Best Man. The groomsmen/ushers were Greg, Charles, and Kevin Brower, brothers of the groom; Eugene and Jimmy Thompson, brothers of the bride. The handsome Ringbearers were Master Marcus Brower, nephew of the groom and Master Joshua Thompson, nephew of the bride.

The honorary guests were Mr. and Mrs. Peters J. Rogers, cousins of the bride. The guestbook/gifts/program attendants were Tiffany Ollie, Tracey Ollie, Dera Roberts, cousins of the bride, and Tessie Taylor, cousin of the groom. The hostesses were Brenda Bonds, Betty Roberts, cousins of the bride; Charlotte Clark, Marguerite Johnson, Margue rite Welch, aunts of the bride; Myra Dean, cousin of the groom. The Coordinators were Janie T. Ollie, cousin of the bride, Donna W. Thompson, sister-in-law of the bride.

Music was rendered by Ms. Maxine Wiley. Vocal selections were performed by Bertha Burrell, aunt of the bride, and Alvin Smith, friend of the couple.

The bride wore a long white satin gown with a detachable trail, all filled with sequins, lace and pearls. The gown was made by the bride's cousin, Mrs. Betty T. Roberts of New York. She carried a bouquet with pearls and white and mauve roses.

The bride, escorted by her father, was given in marriage by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Hoover Thompson of Fincastle. She graduated from Lord Botetourt High School. The groom is the son of Mrs. Bessie V. Brower of Roanoke. He graduated from William Fleming High School and attended Ferrum College. Both the bride and groom are employed with AMP Inc., Roanoke.

Many thanks to all their family and friends for making their wedding an occasion to cherish for many years to come.

After a romantic seven-day cruise to Cozumel Mexico, Grand Cayman, and Ocho Rios Jamaica, the couple is residing in Roanoke.

Michele Joan Fairtrace and Scott Arlen Butcher were united in marriage September 16, 1995, at Salem Baptist Church.

The matron of honor was Leslie Long, sister of the groom. The bridesmaids were Debbie and Angela Butcher, both sisters of the groom.

The best man was Gary Butcher, father of the groom. The groomsmen were David Butcher, brother of the groom, and Johnny Gorgan, friend of the bride an d groom.

The bride is the daughter of Joan and Harold Witt II of Roanoke and Shirley and Henry Fairtrace III of Moneta.

The groom is the son of Brenda Butcher of Roanoke and Linda and Gary Butcher of Salem.

The bride is the daughter of Michael and Connie Caulfield of O'Fallon, Illinois. She is a graduate of Virginia Tech, and is employed by Vienna Pediatrics Association.

The groom is the son of Allen and JoAnne Butterfield of Christiansburg. He is a graduate of Radford University, and is employed by Providence Laboratory Associates.

The newlyweds will live in Fairfax, Virginia, after their wedding trip to Jamaica.

\ Cain-Gross

Kimberly Lynn Gross and Rodney Alan Cain were married on September 16 at Mill Creek Baptist Church in Fincastle. The Rev. Harold E. Cook, Jr., officiated the double ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy L. Gross, Jr., of Buchanan. She is a graduate of Roanoke College and Virginia Tech. She is employed by Gloucester County Schools.

The groom is the son of Mrs. Donna R. Cain of Youngstown, Ohio. He served in the U. S. Navy and is currently employed by Wilson Specialties, Inc., Canfield, Ohio.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. Angela Green was her sister's maid of honor. Bridesmaid was Lori Coughlin, the bride's cousin.

Javier Bustos of Boise, Idaho, friend of the bridegroom, served as best man. Groomsman was Dale Green, the bride's brother-in-law. Junior groomsman was Corey Clark, the bride's nephew.

Flower girl was Lori Jefferies, niece of the bride, and ring bearer was Cody Green, nephew of the bride. Jimmy Kelly was organist and Ron Garten, the bride's uncle, was soloist. Joy Cook served as the wedding director.

A reception was held at the church fellowship hall.

After a honeymoon trip to Ocho Rios, Jamaica, the couple will reside in Gloucester Point, Virginia.

Jill Renee Price and Andrew Todd Davis were married September 9, 1995, at Lynn Haven Baptist Church with the Rev. Rick L. Brown officiating. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles K. Price of Roanoke. She is employed by First Union Bank.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew B. Davis of Vinton. He is employed by Wilson Trucking Corporation.

The newlyweds will reside in Vinton, Va., after a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach.

The bride is the daughter of Robert P. and Mary E. Worley of Montvale. She is a graduate of Liberty High School, Bedford, Va. She is employed by Roanoke Construction Specialties, Inc.

The groom is the son of Sherill L. Maggio of Goodview, Va., and the late Alan F. Dean of Muskegon, MI. He is a graduate of Oak Ridge High School, Muskegon, MI. He is employed by Kroger Distribution Center.

She carried a bouquet of white and mauve roses, orchids, stephanotis and ivy. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Shirley Trent Stanley of Grundy, Va. She graduated from Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, Va., and is employed by D. L. Davis & Co., Inc., Winston-Salem, N. C. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs.. Harry B. Grant of Thaxton, Va. He is a graduate of Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, Va., and is employed by BellSouth Communication Systems, Roanoke, Va. The newlyweds will live in Pfafftown, N. C., after a wedding trip to Aruba.

The matron of honor was Lisa McClanahan, cousin of the bride. The bridesmaids were Anna Rodriguez, friend of the bride; and Donna Looney, sister-in-law of the bride. Flowergirls were Bethany Nuckols, sister of the groom; and Elizabeth Gentry, cousin of the bride.

Travis Nicole Bower and Eric Allen Johnson were united in marriage on September 16, 1995, at South Roanoke United Methodist Church. The Reverend Donald H. Roberts officiated the candlelight double ring ceremony.

The reception was held in the grand ballroom of the Radisson Patrick Henry Hotel. The rehearsal dinner, hosted by the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul William Johnson, was held at the LaMaison Restaurant. A bridal luncheon was held at the Hotel Roanoke. The luncheon was hosted by the bride's cousin, Mrs. Kelly Angle.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lanny G. Bower of Montvale. She is a graduate of George Mason University and is employed by Mason Associates of Herndon, Va. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul William Johnson of Herndon, Va. He is a graduate of George Mason University and is employed by the Federal government in Washington, D. C.

Jacqueline Dana McBride and Peter Daniel Kepler were married September 16, 1995 at Calvary Baptist Church in Roanoke. The officiating clergymen were Rev. Dennis Herman and Father James Fosnot. The reception was held at the Fralin Atrium in the Jefferson Center.

The bride was escorted by her father. The maid of honor was Jenny McBride, sister of the bride. The bridesmaids were Pam Echard and Christine Kepler, sisters of the groom, and Jennifer Dean and Amy Roberson, both friends of the bride.

The groom's father served as best man. Groomsmen were Dale Echard, brother-in-law of the groom, Jeff Kepler, brother of the groom, and Jeff Krepps and Kenny Palmer, both friends of the groom.

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Talma Dowe Perry and the late Dr. Sheridan L. C. Perry. She is a graduate of Hollins College and is employed by the Art Museum of Western Virginia. The bridegroom is the son of the late Mrs. Cornelia Hairston Martin and the late Mr. John W. Martin. He is a graduate of New York University and is employed by the Allstate Insurance Company.

The bride was escorted by her cousin, Frank Creft. The matron of honor was Jo Eggers. The bridesmaids were JoHann Drew, Susan Lombard, Gina Panizzi and Rose Zuk.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Linwood Boyd of Christiansburg and is a senior at Virginia Tech. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William H. Moore of Christiansburg and is employed by Anderson & Associates of Blacksburg.

Following their wedding trip to the Outer Banks, N. C., the newlyweds will reside in Christiansburg.

\ Orr-Vaniels

Mary Beth Vaniels and Thomas Lanier Orr, II were married on Saturday, September 16, 1995, at 6:00 p.m. at Cave Spring United Methodist Church. The Reverend William C. Logan of Cave Spring and Pastor Robert Maier of Glade Creek Lutheran Church officiated the double-ring ceremony. The reception was held at Hunting Hills Country Club.

The bride was escorted to the altar by her father and given in marriage by her parents. The bride wore a white Italian satin gown from Formal Occasions. The fitted bodice and off-the-shoulder short sleeve gown was heavily embellished with Alencon lace covered in pearls and clean crystals. The fitted basque waist flowed into a full skirt with cathedral train detailed with a wide lace and pearl covered hemline. The bride carried a crescent bouquet of calla lilies, stephanotis, and white roses.

Maid of honor was Michelle Vaniels of Arlington, Virginia, sister of the bride. The bridesmaids were Jennifer Johnson and Mary Catherine Johnson of Abingdon, Virginia, Kerry Addington of Roanoke, cousins of the bride; and Kelley Orr of Roanoke, sister of the groom.

Best man was Tom Orr, father of the groom. Groomsmen were Bill Ellis of Richmond, Virginia, Darrell Joyce, Robert Hedge, and Ronnie Fugate, of Roanoke, all friends of the groom.

The flowergirl was Devon Douthett of Roanoke, cousin of the bride.

Willis-Crowder

Kimberly Margo Crowder and Harold Eugene Willis, Jr. were united in marriage on Saturday, September 16, 1995, in a 7:30 p.m. candlelit garden ceremony at the historic Fincastle home of Jake and Phebe Cress. The officiating clergyman was Clyde Carter of Daleville, Va.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas R. Crowder of Fincastle. She was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father. The bride is a graduate of Hollins College, Roanoke, Va., and the Medical College of Virginia, Richmond, Va.

The groom is the son of Mrs. Dinnah Jane Barnette of Madison Heights, Va. He is a veteran of the United States Navy and a graduate of ECPI Technical College, Richmond, Va.

Mrs. Shelly Blevins-Stanley of Richmond, Va. was the matron of honor. Bridal attendants were Ms. Eileen McCaul of Roanoke, and Ms. Katherine Evans of Savannah, Ga. A wedding blessing was written and read by Mrs. Adrian Blevins-Church of Fincastle. Bethany Barnette, niece of the groom, was the flowergirl. The ringbearer was Timothy John (T.J.) Crowder, nephew of the bride.

The best man was Martin Church of Roanoke. The groomsmen were Jim McDowell of Troutville, and Andy Stanley of Richmond, Va.

The wedding music was provided by Roaring Jelly, a hammer dulcimer band from Christiansburg, Va. Catering was handled by Murphy's of Course of Roanoke. Julie Tames of Roanoke, friend of the couple, designed, baked and built the extraordinary wedding cake complete with candied pansies and rose petals to adorn it. The flowers and grapevine garden trellis were done by Patti Neal of Roanoke, friend of the bride. Butler Day of Atlanta, Ga., Eileen McCaul, Martin Church and Rudder Photo Lab of Roanoke all contributed various photographic wedding needs. Videography was done by Tim Crowder of Richmond, brother of the bride.

Kim and Gene would like to express their grateful and undying thanks to their parents and all who helped make their wedding celebration happen, and also for all the love and support everyone so generously gave. Additional thanks goes to Jake and Phebe Cress for extending their home, time and effort to the couple. Krista Maria Langheim and Jason Kirby Winningham were united in marriage on Saturday, August 26, 1994 at Christ Community Church in Franklin, Tennessee. The officiating clergymen were the Reverend Michael Smith and the Reverend James E. Parke.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard W. Langheim of Salem, Virginia. The groom is the son of Mr. & Mrs. David Winningham of Franklin, Tennessee.

The bride, escorted by her father, was given in marriage by her parents. LaCinda Moody, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Attendants were Charlotte Winningham, Elizabeth Buford, and Vicki Boggs. David Winningham, father of the groom, served his son as best man. Groomsmen were Thomas Langheim, Doug Campbell, and Brian McWaters. Ring bearer was Rebekah Moody, niece of the bride. Briana Moody and Nicole Moody served their Aunt as flower girls. A reception, welcoming 200 guests, was held at the David Winningham home.

The newlyweds will reside in Memphis, Tennessee, where the groom, a graduate of Georgia Tech, is employed as a Chemical Engineer. The bride, a graduate of James Madison University, is employed as an Elementary Teacher in the Memphis school system.

\ Worrell-Bolick

Karen Susette Bolick and Michael Lynn Worrell were married September 16, 1995, in a private ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Ms. Shirley B. Bolick and Mr. John W. Bolick, Roanoke. Heather Michele Hale and Jerry Darrel Wright were married September 9, 1995, in Thaxton Baptist Church with Rev. Hunter B. Hale, Jr., father of the bride, officiating. The maid of honor was Christina Hale, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Kathy Kindle, Renee Casto, Sherry Rice, Melissa Floyd, and Lisa Price, all friends of the bride. Flowergirls were Stephanie Kindle, Heidi Hodges and Tiffany Rice, all friends of the bride. Rick Atkins, friend of the groom, served as best man. Ushers included Chris Lee, Duane DeHart, Jamie Asbury, Ralph Rice and Patrick Keough, all friends of the groom. Ringbearer was D. J. Wright, nephew of the groom. The bride wore an ivory silk gown which featured a cathedral train. Bodice was accented with beaded pearls. She carried a nosegay of ivory and soft pink roses. The bride also wore her grandfather Hale's wedding band in memory of him. The bride is a daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Hunter B. Hale, Jr., of Thaxton, Va. Grandparents of the bride are Mrs. Margaret W. Hale and the late Hunter B. Hale, Sr., of Vinton and Mr. and Mrs. Carl L. Melvin of North Tazewell, Va. She graduated from Liberty High School and Radford University. She is employed by Guest Services, Inc. of Radford. The groom is the son of Mrs. Charlotte Wright and the late Jerry Wright, Bland, Va. The grandparents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. John Campbell and Mrs. Nina Wright and the late Donald Wright, all of Bland. He graduated from Bland High School and is employed by New River Industries of Radford. The newlyweds will live in Radford after the wedding trip to Gatlinburg and Nashville, Tenn.
