Warren ``Brick'' and Emma Brickhouse celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on September 3, at the home of their daughter, Darlene Whichard, and her husband, Doug, in Blacksburg, Va. Guests included another daughter, Susan Brickhouse, of Charlotte, N.C., and Mrs. Brickhouse's sister, Ida Warren, of Las Vegas, Nevada. Their son, Paul Brickhouse, of Seattle, Wa., was unable to attend. They were married September 1, 1945, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mrs. Brickhouse is the former Emma Sanzio of N iagara Falls, N.Y. Mr. Brickhouse is owner of B&E Tile and Terrazzo. They have two grandchildren, Cheryl McCarthy, Oakton, Va., and Karl Whichard, Arlington, Va

Frank and Hazel Humston are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today, September 17, 1995. They were married at Green Memorial Methodist Church on September 17, 1945. All of their sons and wives (Doug and Marie, Don and Connie, Dennis and Lorna) hosted a dinner at Natural Bridge Hotel in honor of their parents on Saturday night, September 16, 1995. Their entire family including all eight grandchildren (Christy, Cindy, Carolyn, Sam, Joe, Jimmy, Mindy and Amber) will attend church services today with the Humstons at Raleigh Court United Methodist.
Kabler anniversary
Paul and Charlotte Kabler celebrated their 35th Wedding Anniversary, with a reception on Sunday, September 17, 1995, at the home of their daughter and son-in-law. It was hosted by their son, Doug Kabler, and daughter and son-in-law, Michael and Martha Kabler-Farris.
The couple were married September 17, 1960 in Roanoke at Belmont Baptist Church. She's the former Charlotte Jessee. They have two children, Douglas M. Kabler of Roanoke and Martha Kabler-Farris of Thaxton.
He is employed by Southern Refrigeration, and she is a housewife. They are members of Belmont Baptist Church in Roanoke.
\ Maxey anniversary
Perry O. and Edith B. Maxey were honored for their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception at the Barnhardt Baptist Church Social Hall in Stewartsville on September 3, 1995 by their children and their spouses, Mahlon and Pat Maxey of Vinton, John and Gloria Blankenship of Roanoke, and Lloyd and Irene Maxey of Goodview . Mr. Maxey retired from Maxey Seat Cover Center in 1982. Mrs. Maxey is the former Edith Bolling of Huddleston, Va. and a former employee of Miller and Rhoades. They were married in Asheboro, N.C. on September 8, 1945. They have five grandchildren, David and Evan Maxey of Vinton, Ross and Brett Blankenship of Roanoke, and Margaret Maxey of Goodview. They have been members of Barnhardt Baptist Church for 35 years. After the celebration, they flew to Seattle, Washington to attend his Third Infantry Division reunion.

Agnes M. McLain and Robert W. McLain have celebrated their 56th anniversary. They were married September 16, 1939 in Moneta. Robert is retired from Greater Roanoke Transit Co. Agnes is retired from the cafeteria at Vinton Weaving Co. The McLains have two children, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Flemon and Gertrude Phillips celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary September 13, 1995. She is the former Gertrude Flinchum. They were married when he was 18, and she was 16 in Floyd, Va. by the Rev. J. T. Williams. They have two daughters, Phyllis Ludwig and Carolyn Furrow, and four grandchildren. They reside at 910 High Street, Christiansburg, Va. He retired from Hercules, Inc., and she is retired from Radford University.

Milton and Alvenia Tribley celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary. They were married September 15, 1945 in Altoonia, Pa. They have one daughter, two sons and four grandchildren.
