Walker Edward Brand, weighing 8 lbs. 14 3/4 oz. and 21 inches long, was born at Community Hospital, August 8, 1995 at 9:24 a.m. Parents are David and Bette Brand, and proud big brother, Griffin Thomas Brand, 2 1/2 years old. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Branson, Moneta. Paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. William T. Brand, Roanoke. Maternal great-grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Calimer, Virginia Beach, Va. The attending physician was Dr. Lynn Keene. We would like to thank Dr. Keene and her staff for helping us bring our beautiful son into the world.
\ Clay birth
Ruthann Theresa Clay, weighing 6 lbs. 4 oz. and 18 3/4 inches long, was born at Lewis Gale Hospital on September 1, 1995, at 3:45 a.m. Her parents are Ronnie and Kimberly Clay. Paternal grandparents are Jack and Edeltraud Clay, Cleveland, Ohio. Maternal grandparents are Ruth and Dee Zook, Potomac, Md., and Joe and Dee Rice, Palm City, Fla. Thanks to Dr. Clapp for her expert care and attending physician Dr. Gustafson, and to the members of the Church of the Holy Spirit, and to friends and family for their well wishes and prayers. We are truly blessed.

Victoria Brooke McDaniel was born August 14, 1995 at 8:10 a.m. in Community Hospital. She weighed 8 lbs. 12 1/2 ozs. and was 21 inches long. Victoria's proud parents are Harold and Angie McDaniel of Elliston. Grandparents are Dennis and Susie Hall of Salem and Harold and Debbie McDaniel of Salem. Great-grandparents include Allie and Audrey Weaver of Salem and Emmett ``Sonny'' Hall of Elliston. Dr. Lee McLennan was the attending physician.
\ Moore twin births
Haley Michelle Moore and Heather Nicole Moore were born on May 31, 1995, in Community Hospital. Parents are Richard and Cindi Moore of Salem. Grandparents are Michael and Cynthia Calaway, and Rick and Sharon Moore. Great-grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Frank Calaway, and Genevieve Witt. Great-great-grandmother is Jenny Lou Cregger of Richfield Nursing Center.

James and Brehanna Sawyer proudly announce the arrival of their daughter, Anna Violet, born August 23, 1995.
The new maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan Kurtin of Roanoke and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Vassar, Jr. of Troutville. Paternal grandparents are Mr. John Sawyer and Mrs. Bickerstaff Sawyer of Montgomery, Alabama. The proud maternal great-grandparents are Mr. & Mrs. Ernie Proffit and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Chavez of Roanoke. Uncles and aunts are Mr. Charles Vassar, III of Roanoke, Mr. John Sawyer, Jr. of Montgomery and Mr. and Mrs. K. David Sawyer of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Anna Violet was born at 12:44 a.m. at Lewis-Gale Hospital in Salem, attended by Dr. James Kelly. At birth, she weighed eight pounds, five and one half ounces and measured nineteen and one half inches.
\ Thornhill birth
Lauren Irene Thornhill was born August 18, 1995 at 4:19 p.m. at Community Hospital of Roanoke Valley. She weighed 7 lbs. 4 1/4 ozs., and was 20 inches long. Her proud parents are Gary and Charlotte Thornhill.
Her paternal grandparents are Bob and Barbara Thornhill of Roanoke; maternal grandmother if Bernadine Morin of Ky., and maternal grandfather is Victor T. Dennett, Jr. of Mass. Her paternal great-grandmother is Gladys Maxey of Roanoke; maternal great-grandmothers are Winifred Carlson of Conn., Florence Dennett of Mass., and Margaret LaBree of Fla. Mark Lee Vest and Alison Crawford-Vest joyfully announce the birth of their daughter, Megan Lindsay, born May 11, 1995 at Community Hospital of Roanoke Valley. She weighed 6 lbs. 6 1/2 ozs. and was 19 inches long. She is the granddaughter of Freddie and Shelby Vest of Bassett, Va., and Paul F. and Mary Crawford of Rocky Mount, Va. She is the great-granddaughter of Dorothy Crawford of Salem, Va. Mark and Alison would like to especially thank Dr. Gregory Hardee and Dr. Lynn Keene and their staff for all their wonderful help and support throughout the pregnancy and delivery.
