Danny Ainge, the fiery, long-shooting sparkplug who has spent the past three seasons as a Phoenix Sun guard, officially ended his 14-year NBA career to become a television analyst for Turner Sports.
Ainge fills a slot vacated by Doug Collins, who left TNT to become the coach and general manager of the Detroit Pistons. This will be a third career for Ainge, who played baseball briefly for the Toronto Blue Jays.
Ainge played on Boston's NBA championship teams in 1984 and 1986 and spent 14 seasons in the league with the Celtics, Sacramento, Portland and Phoenix.
