PULASKI ART EXHIBIT

"Paradox at One Elbow," an exhibit by Blacksburg artist Joni Pienkowski, will be featured at the Fine Arts Center for the New River Valley during October.

Pienkowski will conduct a discussion of her work at a luncheon Sept. 27. Reservations can be made by calling the center at 980-7363.

She has had solo shows at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond; the Parthenon in Nashville, Tenn.; the William Dale Gallery in New Orleans; Virginia Tech; Radford University; and the Franz Bader Gallery in Washington.

This exhibit is a retrospective of her work from 1950 to 1990. It was first shown at the Alleghany Highlands Arts and Crafts Center under the direction of Nancy Newhard, former director of the Fine Arts Center, and then traveled throughout Virginia. It is being brought back to the artist's own New River Valley area.

Pienkowski is donating 50 copies of the show's original catalog for sale, with proceeds going to benefit the Fine Arts Center.
