Oxendine had his hand X-rayed for a second time Monday, and his status for Saturday's home game against 19th-ranked Miami has been upgraded from doubtful to questionable.
Senior flanker Bryan Still's status for Miami also is questionable. Still hasn't played since separating his right shoulder on a kickoff return to start the second half in the season opener against Boston College.
Still fell on his right arm on the first play of Monday's workouts, but wasn't hurt seriously.
A pair of backup players - sophomore center John Matesic and sophomore running back Aaron Layne - also were hurt in practice. Matesic injured a foot and could be out for two weeks. Layne injured a knee and is out for an undetermined period.
Among the regulars, senior linebacker George Del Ricco, banged up in the Cincinnati game, sat out Monday's practice and could miss additional practice time this week. Del Ricoo, however, is expected to play against the Hurricanes.
