BOWER, Ruth Fralin, 76, of Roanoke County, died Monday, September 18, 1995, at her home. She was the widow of Ira J. Bower, a member of Cave Spring Baptist Church and was a retired, dedicated nurse from Brambleton Clinic and Catawba Hospital. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, I. Garland and Elsie Bower, Roanoke; daughters and son-in-law, Wanda B. and Dorsey Huff, Roanoke, Charlotte B. Bibb, Vinton; granddaughters, Leisa B. Booze, Roanoke, Lindsay and Laura Bibb, Vinton; great-grandson, Cameron Booze; several stepgrandchildren; sisters and a brother-in-law, Velma and John Dulaney, Botetourt Co., Connie James, Petersburg; sisters-in-law, Maude Bower Beckner, Covington, Ohio, Bessie Bower, Roanoke. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's Vinton Chapel at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 20, 1995, with the Rev. Rick Elmo re, Elder Robert E. Peters, and the Rev. T. G. Ayers officiating. CASH, Frank Garland, 69, of 918 Miller Ave., Fayetteville, N.C. , died Saturday, September 16, 1995. He was retired Civil Service from Ft. Bragg, N.C. and served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. Survivors include a son, Randy Cash, Hope Mills, N.C.; four brothers, Clarence Cash, Greenville, Ohio, F.A. Cash, New Mexico, Taylor Cash, Garner, N.C., William Cash, Fayetteville, N.C.; one sister, Lucille Kean, Versailles, Ohio; three grandchildren. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Grace Baptist Church with the Dr. Robert A. Phipps and the Rev. James R. Scales officiating. Burial at Lafayette Memorial Park West. COLLER, Robert Erickson, Jr. (``Rick''), 47, of Richmond, died suddenly Saturday, September 16, 1995. He was born in Indianapolis, Ind. and lived in Roanoke and Shaumburg, Ill. He was an employee of Allstate Life Insurance. He is survived by his former wife, Patricia (Patty) Hall Coller; two sons, Robert and Michael; his mother, Barbara L. Coller, Stuart, Fla.; sister, Cheryn Coller Durrett, and her four children; a devoted friend, Laura Blue. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Huguenot Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd., where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday. COURTNEY, Larry Edward, 46, of Roanoke, died Sunday, September 17, 1995. He was a retired foreman with National Pools of Roanoke. He was preceded in death by a sister, Marion Courtney. Surviving are his wife, Rosa Lee Courtney, Roanoke; son, Troy E. Courtney, Roanoke; daughters, Kimberly Pittman, Buena Vista; Dawn M. Williford, Roanoke, Dorothy J. COX, Clelia Mabel Slusher, of Collinsville, Va. died Monday, September 18, 1995 at Memorial Hospital, Martinsville. She is preceded in death by her parents, the late, Walter Thomas Slusher and Clelia Ettie Slusher; and her husband, Paul Cox; two sisters, Hazel Gardner, Minnie Huff; two brothers, Clevie Slusher and Arbra Slusher. Mrs. Cox was a former teacher and a member of the First Baptist Church in Welch , W. Va., and also members of McDowell Co. Womans Club where she received recognition for 50 years membership; McDowell Co. Association of Retired School Employees; Welch Garden Club; Member of Smith Memorial United Methodist Church Circle Two; Martinsville Virginia Christian Womens Club; Friendship Club at First Baptist Church, Collinsville; Former member of Circle First Baptist Church, Welch, W. Va. Mrs. Cox is survived two daughters, Pauline Cox Cook, Premier, W.Va., Linda Cox Jackson, Collinsville; sisters, Mrs. Dean (Lois) Stout, Hillsville; one grandchild, Clelia Cook Hylton; one great-grandchild, Kenlee Elizabeth Hylton. CUNNINGHAM, Clara Munsey, 96, of Radford, died Monday, September 18, 1995, at Radford Community Hospital. She was a native of Floyd, and the daughter of Rev. I. N. and Susan E. Munsey. Clara was an educator, having taught for 40 years, mostly in Charleston, W. Va. After her teaching career, she did extensive traveling. She was noted for her keen wit and intelligence. She was a 1920 graduate of Martha Washington College in Abingdon and did graduate work at Radford State Teachers College. She was a long-standing member of Grove United Methodist Church in Radford, and recently was honored by having a church circle named for her. She was the widow of George A. Cunningham. Surviving are her sister, Miss Maude Mu nsey, and her sister-in-law, Mrs. Margie Munsey, both of Radford; a stepson, George Cunningham Jr., Seattle, Wash.; a nephew and wife, Randolph and Eleanor Munsey, Abingdon, and a niece and husband, Evelyn and Jack Hetherington, Richmond. Funeral 2 p.m. Wednesday, at DeVilbiss Funeral Home, with the Rev. Clarence Dishman officiating. Interment will be in Jacksonville Cemetery, Floyd. Her body will be moved from Wood Funeral Home in Floyd to DeVilbiss Funeral Home at 4 p.m. Tuesday, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

DICKERSON, Vallard Cleveland, 80, of Roanoke died Monday, September 18, 1995. He is survived by his wife, Hazel R. Dickerson; daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce A. and Frank C. DOBBINS, Doris Bishop, 63, of Christiansburg, died Sunday, September 18, 1995, in a Roanoke hospital. She is survived by her husband, William S. (""Bill"") Dobbins; one daughter and son-in-law, Cherly and George Hudgins, Christiansburg; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Claude and Evangeline Bishop, Roanoke; Darrell and Betty Bishop, Christiansburg; three grandsons, Bradley Hudgins, Craig Hudgins, Ryan Hudgins; her mother-in-law, Ruth Dobbins, Christiansburg; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jerry and Jane Dobbins, Virginia Beach; numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday from the Richardson-Horne Funeral Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Walt Simmerman with interment in Sunset Cemetery. DOBYNS, Garner Preston, 79, of Salem, died Monday, September 18, 1995. He was retired from Valleydale with over 41 years of service. He was active in youth work and served as president of the Virginia Christian Endeavor Union, president of the C.M.F., served churches in Craig Co., the Gravel Hill Christian Church and Craig Healing Springs Christian Church, was active and past chairman of the Salem Republican Party and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Rev. Dobyns and Margaret Estes entertained at the Senior Citizens Luncheons in Salem for many years. Surviving is his wife, Mozelle R. Dobyns; sisters, Lollie Prince, Va. Beach, Alice Nesbitt, Palaka, Fla. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Lotz Salem Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Burger. Burial in Sherwood Memorial Park. FEAZELLE, Sarah Anne Nelson, 31, of Roanoke, passed away Sunday, September 17, 1995. Sarah was an active member and faithful servant of her Lord, serving in many capacities at Valley View Wesleyan Church. She was a secretary for Taylor Financial Services and is survived by her husband, Timothy R. Feazelle Sr.; her children, T. R. Feazelle II, Samantha A. Feazelle, Gwendolen L. Feazelle, all of the home; her father, Martin E. (Ed) Nelson, Roanoke; her mother, Geraldine (Geri) B. GARST, Billie Penn, 79, of Roanoke, died Sunday, September 17, 1995. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Taylor Garst, and was employed by A. T. Lloyd, Attorney at Law for many years. Mrs. Garst was a member of Greene Memorial United Methodist Church. Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Carol G. and James F. Hayes, III, Richmond, Jean G. and Michael R. GILES, Herman Alexander, 66, of Belspring, died Monday, September 18, 1995, in Virginia Veterans Retirement Center in Salem. He is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Conner Giles. He is survived by four sisters, Josephine Bruce, Radford, Helen Blair, Radford, Gerlean Bruce, Radford, and Cova Graham, New River; two brothers, Claude A. Giles, Belspring, and Harry R. HALE, Bettie D., 73, of Roanoke, died Sunday, September 17, 1995, in a local hospital after a long illness. She was a graduate of Jefferson High School and a member of North Roanoke Baptist Church. Mrs. Hale was a very loving mother and grandmother and was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Ann Nungesser; grandson, John W. Nungesser. Surviving are her husband William E. (""Red"") Hale, Roanoke; daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Bill Minix, Fort Worth, Texas; grandson and wife, Brian and Kathleen Minix; two granddaughters, Tracey Schaberg and Patricia Ann Minix; great-grandson, Zachery; all of Roanoke; sister, Mrs. R. HALL, Nellie Payne, 82, of Roanoke, passed away Monday, September 18, 1995, in her home. Nellie was a member of the Oakland Baptist Church since 1933 and a member of the Dorcas Sunday School Class. She was retired from Davidson's Clothing Store, where she worked for 25 years. She is survived by the love of her life and husband of 62 years, Estile A. Hall; two daughters, Barbara Quinn and Betty Patterson and son-in-law, Don Patterson, all of Roanoke; left behind also are six devoted grandchildren, Liz Walker, Thom Quinn and wife, Mary, Jenny Patterson, all of Roanoke, Jackie Highberger and husband, Jim, Salem, Mike Patterson, Atlanta, Ga., Jeff Patterson, Verona; surviving are also seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Juanita Overstreet, Roanoke, Ruby Hicks, Charlotte, N.C.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Francis H. and wife, Vicky Payne, Spring Hill, Fla., Carl N. and Alberta Payne, Herndon. KEFFER, Vivian G., 86, of Blacksburg, died Monday, September 18, 1995, at Meadowbrook Nursing Home in Shawsville. She was born in Indiana on October 27, 1908. McKINNEY, Harry P., Jr., 68, of Roanoke County, passed away Monday, September 18, 1995 at his residence. Harry retired in 1989 as Fire Chief of the City of Roanoke and was a charter member of the Roanoke Firefighters Association and was an honorary member of the International Association of Fire Chiefs. He was a member and Deacon of Crystal Spring Baptist Church and was a life-long member of the former Jefferson Street Baptist Church. His family and friends will also remember him as a very loving husband, father, and dedicated family man. He is survived by his wife, Doris Vest McKinney; his daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Keith Weiner; his son and daughter-in-law, Harry and Candy McKinney; two grandsons, Harry McKinney IV, Christopher McKinney; his mother, Bessie V. McKinney; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert V. and Isabell McKinney; a special aunt and uncle, Ruth and LLoyd Clodfelter. He will also be greatly missed by his little dog, Pepper. Harry was a member of Lakeland Masonic Lodge #190, the Roanoke Scottish Rite Bodies, Kazim Temple and the Roanoke Valley Shrine Club. He was a member of the Glenwood Pentecostal Holiness Church and was retired from Burlington, Industries. She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Ritenour, Winchester, Debra L. Woody, Atlanta, Ga.; one brother, Dale W. Hughes, Salt Lake City, Utah; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 20, 1995 at 11 a.m. at the Fairlawn Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny W. Collins officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Fairlawn Baptist Church in Fairlawn. DeVilbiss Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

WAZNY, Tony J., 44, of Roanoke, made his transition on Wednesday, September 13, 1995, in Las Vegas, Nev. Tony was a computer consultant doing business as MicroKnight, currently working at Ericsson in Lynchburg. He enjoyed acting in local theater and was a handwriting analyst. Tony will be missed by all whose lives he touched, especially his wife, Joanne Graham Wazny; daughters, Shannon Aldrich, Niles, Mich., and Megan Graham Aldrich, Guilford College, Greensboro, N.C.; granddaughter, Audra, Niles, Mich.; his parents, Tony and Jeri Wazny, Las Vegas, Nev.; sister, Patricia Lloyd, Lakewood, Colo., and brothers, Dr. Mike Wazny, Denver, Colo., and Larry Wazny, Westminster, Colo. A memorial service was shared at the Desert Memorial Cremation Society in Las Vegas on September 15, 1995, by the family and the Rev. Richard Walter of the Creative Life! Community Church. Tony's spirit would be honored by random acts of kindness to others.

WRIGHT, Maggie Gertrude Carnell, 68, of Pulaski, passed away Monday, September 18, 1995. Funeral 11 a.m. Wednesday, Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski.

ZIMMERMAN, Joseph E. Jr., 56, of Avon, Fla., formerly of Miami, died Thursday, September 14, 1995, at Baptist Hospital in Miami. He was born in Roanoke, Va., was owner of SIMCO, and a member of the Society of Plastic Engineers and a Baptist. He is survived by his wife, Drema; father, Sr., a daughter, Susan Crull, all of Avon Park; sons, Tony and Mark Zimmerman and Michael Early, all of Miami; brothers, Carl, Moneta, Frank, San Benito, Texas, Max, New Castle.
