WOMAN ROBS CONVENIENCE MARKET

A Southwest Roanoke convenience store was robbed late Monday, police said. No one was injured.

Police said a woman wearing a red flannel shirt and blue jeans walked into the Foodway Store in the 700 block of 13th Street Southwest about 11:50 p.m., demanding money and saying she had a gun.

The clerk gave the woman an undisclosed amount of cash. The woman then ordered the clerk into a room behind the cash register and closed the door. She fled the store, running toward Cleveland Avenue Southwest, police said they were told.

No arrests had been made by late Tuesday.
