Conner scored eight of her 16 in the first half and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead the Buffaloes (5-3). Julie Sowers added 15 points and Melissa Cantrell had 10, including three 3-pointers.
Northside was led by Crystal Barrett, who kept the Vikings close in the first half by scoring 11 of her 15 points. Amber Kern and Laura Schmidt each added 11.
Covington 50, James River 43, 2OT: In Covington, the Cougars fell behind by 10 in the first quarter, but battled back and won a Pioneer District matchup with the Knights to snap a four-game slide in double overtime.
Covington (3-4, 1-1) battled back in the second and third quarters, taking the lead in the third period before James River (0-7, 0-1) sent the game into overtime. Joanne Helton scored five of her game-high 18 points in the second quarter to key the comeback.
Helton would seal the victory in the second overtime as she sank three of five free throws. Both teams were over the foul limit throughout the extra periods. Free throws became the name of the game for both teams as Covington sank 14 of its 32 attempts and James River hit nine of 22 shots.
The Knights' hopes were dealt a telling blow with about three minutes to go in the second overtime, when point guard Melissa Baker and leading scorer Julie Firebaugh fouled out.
Glenvar 54, Parry McCluer 40: Erica Hale scored 10 of her game-high 24 points in the third quarter as the Highlanders pulled away from the Fighting Blues in a Pioneer District game in Buena Vista.
Hale finished with 15 second half points for Glenvar, which led by six at halftime.
Parry McCluer (4-3, 1-1), which shot poorly in the first half, was led by freshman Nikki Barger, who scored 11 points. The Fighting Blues' top two guns, Lindsey Coleman and Crystal Humphries, were held to a combined 14 points.
Bath County 51, Craig County 22: Katie Hardbarger scored a game-high 16 points as the Chargers (2-5) pulled away from the Rockets in a Pioneer District game in New Castle.
Craig County (0-6, 0-2) was victimized by 3-of-18 field-goal shooting in the first half. Senior Laura Nelson led the Rockets with 10 points.
Bath County (2-5) also got 11 points from Melanie Woods and 10 from Suzanna Shanks.
Auburn 61, Christiansburg 50: Crystal Moles wreaked havoc on her former team by scoring a game-high 27 points and grabbing 10 rebounds to lead the Eagles past the Blue Demons in a non-district game in Riner.
Moles made all seven of her shots from the field in the first half as Auburn (4-3) made more than 60 percent of its shots. Deanna Dickerson added 11 of her 17 points in the first quarter and Laura Underwood chipped in 10.
Christiansburg (4-4) was led by Stewart Milton, who scored 16 points. Lisa Dalton added 11.
Amherst County 47, Staunton River 35: In Moneta, the Golden Eagles fell behind 21-4 in the first quarter, but rallied before falling to the Lancers in the Seminole District.
Erin Johaness led Amherst with 20 points.
Beth Davis led the Golden Eagles (3-4) with nine points, including a pair of 3-pointers.
Stuarts Draft 61, Rockbridge County 37: In Stuarts Draft, the Cougars held the Wildcats scoreless for the first 5:10 of the first quarter and built a 28-2 lead en route to an easy non-district victory.
Senior guard Brandy Campbell led Stuarts Draft (5-2) with 18 points.
Ashley McClain was the leading scorer for Rockbridge County, with 12 points.
Galax 50, Grayson County 21: In Independence, the Maroon Tide (8-0) held the Blue Devils to six points or fewer in each quarter, as Galax kept Grayson County winless in non-district action.
Turnovers doomed the Blue Devils, who lost the ball 32 times. Nikki Young scored 10 points to lead Grayson (0-8).
