HALL'S POINTS LIFT CAVALIERS

Yvonne Hall scored a game-high 23 points Thursday as Fieldale-Collinsville took an early lead and held on for the 59-56 Piedmont District girls' high school basketball victory over Laurel Park in Martinsville.

Carrie Quinlan added 10 points for the Cavaliers.

Brandy Martin was the leading scorer for Laurel Park (3-4, 3-3) with 19 points.

Rural Retreat 61, Castlewood 59: In Castlewood, Kristie Osborne hit both ends of a two-shot foul to ice a Hogoheegee District victory for the Indians.

With 2.3 seconds remaining, Osborne sank her pair of free throws, capping a second-half comeback. Osborne led Rural Retreat with 18 points.

Kelly Salyer, who was coming off a quadruple-double, scored a game-high 32 points and grabbed 20 rebounds. Tasha Fields added 11 in the Blue Devils' loss.

George Wythe 61, Lebanon 59: At Wytheville, George Wythe staved off a rally by Lebanon to post a Hogoheegee District victory. Megan Johnson led the Maroons (5-2, 3-2) with a game-high 18 points.
