MICHELOB POLO TEAMS MEET OCT.7

Team Michelob will have one of its infrequent meetings with its sister team, Team Michelob Dry, in the Roanoke Symphony Polo Cup on Oct.7 at Green Hill Park in Salem.

Joe Muldoon III, who captained Gone Away Farms in its 11-11 tie with Team Michelob in last year's Roanoke Symphony benefit, has been selected to head Team Michelob Dry this year.

Omar Cepeda of Wellington, Fla., and the Palm Beach Polo Club, will head Team Michelob. Cepeda, like Muldoon, is one of the ``high-goal'' professional polo players on the east coast.

Other top players expected to be on hand are Earle Betts, Rick Heald, Roger Steele, Gary Leonard, Rodger Rinehart and Rob Rinehart. Steele, from Daleville, has been a frequent participant in the Symphony Cup.

``I expect Cepeda and Muldoon to dominate the scoring,'' team sponsor Adolphus Busch IV said. ``It's the top polo event played every year in the greater Virginia-North Carolina-Maryland area.''

Team Michelob and Team Michelob Dry met for the first time in 1990 and have met only three times subsequently, with the overall series standing 2-2.
