WHO, WHEN & WHERE

Watercolor exhibit

Roanoke watercolorist Dell Siler is currently exhibiting his work in the "Once Around America" show in Washington, D.C.

The exhibit, at the Very Special Arts Gallery, features art in all media by 51 professional artists with disabilities from all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

Siler, who has undergraduate and graduate degrees in fine arts from Radford University, is a poster illustrator and calligraphist. His work has also appeared in Roanoker Magazine and Lake Country.

The exhibit is open until Sept. 29.

Benefit fashion show

``Fashion on the HORIZON'' Traveling Fashion Show, a benefit for the Junior League's Affordable Childcare Program, will appear Saturday, at 7 p.m., at the Roanoke Civic Center.

HORIZON is a theatrical runway experience that travels with its own complete staging, sound, lighting and wardrobe. Fall fashions seen in the show will be available at Roanoke Valley Leggett stores.

The event, co-sponsored by the Junior League and Leggett, raises funds for the league's ``Care That Counts'' program, a multi-faceted approach to improve the quality, affordability and accessibility of childcare through advocacy, education, fund-raising and partnerships with existing programs and organizations.

Tickets are priced at $15 for general admission, $35 for patron admission. Patron admission includes a gala and silent auction at Center in the Square, following the show. Student and group tickets are available.

Tickets may be purchased at Leggett Customer Service, the Roanoke Civic Center box office (981-1201), or through members of the Junior League.

For more information, call 989-0851 or 366-1900.
