NAMES & CHANGES

Acadia appoints finance chief

C. ED FEASTER has been appointed chief financial officer at Roanoke-based Acadia Elastomers Corp. In his new position, he will be responsible for corporate finance, accounting, management information systems, employee benefits and administrative policy, programs and support. For the past nine years, Feaster has worked in various senior financial and management jobs, most recently as general manager of international operations for Genicom Corp., a computer manufacturer.

Acadia designs and produces custom-engineered polymeric products for industrial use.

\ ACCOUNTING

BARBARA FRALIN HOLCOMB has been promoted from supervisor to manager at Brown, Edwards & Co. in Roanoke. A certified public accountant, she joined the company in 1988. Also at Brown, Edwards, ANGELA HILL has been promoted from senior accountant to supervisor. Hill came to the firm in 1988.

BANKING

WILLIAM E. SKEEN has joined Roanoke-based Valley Bank as vice president, commercial lending. He has more than 15 years of banking experience in the Roanoke Valley, most recently with First Union National Bank of Virginia. He is treasurer and a board member of Total Action Against Poverty; president of the Roanoke Community Development Corp.; founding president of 19th and Melrose Corp., an economic development arm of TAP; a certified instructor for the American Institute of Banking and an adjunct faculty member of Virginia Western Community College.

HARRIS GARDNER has been named a vice president for First Citizens Bank in Bedford, where he is a retail branch manager. Gardner is chairman of the Bedford City/County Museum and president of Bedford Main Street Inc. Also at First Citizens Bank, STEVE DOWNIE has been named a business banking manager and vice president of the Raleigh, N.C.-based bank. He is a past member of the Bedford Main Street board.

BEVERLY L. MITCHELL has been elected senior vice president and chief marketing manager for Piedmont BankGroup Inc. based in Martinsville. Mitchell comes to Piedmont BankGroup from Bank One in Youngstown, Ohio, where she was vice president and director of service quality.

FINANCIAL SERVICES

SHELLEY L. BALDERSON of Fincastle has joined UVEST Investment Services, an investment brokerage firm based in Charlotte, N.C. She will work from Bank of Botetourt's Buchanan office through a managed program arrangement, providing a variety of investment products and financial planning services. Balderson has been in the investment services industry for more than four years.

HEALTH CARE

PAT CONWAY of Carilion Health System has been elected president elect of the Virginia Organization of Nurse Executives, and BETH CULLUM of Community Hospital of Roanoke Valley has been elected to the board of directors.

\ INSURANCE

JAMES K. MORGAN JR. has joined Chas. Lunsford Sons & Associates as an associate. He previously was an agent for Farmers Insurance Group.

MANUFACTURING

The Bacova Guild Ltd. has made several executive appointments: RAY GEORGE has been named vice president of manufacturing, KENT VESSER has been appointed vice president of human resources, DICK FITE has been named indoor products marketing director, and DAVID WOODS has been named plant manager. George joins Bacova Guild from Russellville, Ark., where he was plant manager for Conagra, a food corporation. Vesser had been human resource manager with Burlington Industries for more than 22 years before joining Bacova. Fite comes from Daprile & Blair, a home furnishings company. Woods brings to the company more than 22 years' experience in both accounting and manufacturing fields, most recently Conagra.

The guild, with operations in Bath and Alleghany counties, develops, manufactures and markets home furnishings.

MEDIA

CATHERINE GREENBERG has been named marketing director at The Roanoke Times. Greenberg worked at the newspaper from 1980 to 1992 in advertising, sales management and marketing. She was assistant marketing director from 1988 to 1992. For the past five years, she has been a marketing consultant.

MEDICINE

DR. J. BRUCE HAUSER of Roanoke has been named a fellow of the American College of Radiology, an organization of radiologists, radiation oncologists and radiological physicists based in Reston. He was selected for his outstanding contributions to the field of radiology. Hauser practices at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

ORGANIZATIONS

Downtown Roanoke Inc. has elected new officers and directors: ROBERT C. LAWSON JR., Crestar Bank, president; ROBERT B. MANETTA, Carilion Health System, vice president for administration, government relations and membership services; BEVERLY T.
