The Department of Motor Vehicles mailed out 300,000 vehicle registration renewal notices last week before an observant Roanoke motorist noticed a mistake, according to Jeanne Chenault, a DMV spokeswoman.
The mistake, probably caused by a printing glitch, listed the wrong vehicle information on nearly 1,000 notices - part of a batch for the Roanoke area.
Chenault said the affected motorists, all of whom had a November renewal date, will receive corrected registration cards this week. Any renewal notice that was received before this week should be discarded.
