MAN INJURED BY ATTACKERS IN SOUTHEAST

A 45-year-old Southeast Roanoke man was found beaten at his home early Sunday, police said.

Officers responded to an assault call at a residence in the 400 block of Riverland Road shortly after 1 a.m.

They found a man bleeding from an apparent fracture to the area of his right eye.

Three men were seen kicking the victim in the 1200 block of Morton Avenue Southeast about 12:30 a.m.

He was treated at Roanoke Memorial Hospital, where he was in stable condition Monday in the neurotrauma progressive care unit, according to a nursing supervisor.

In other incidents over the weekend, Roanoke police said:

A 31-year-old Northwest Roanoke man walking near his home was robbed at gunpoint by three men early Saturday. No one was injured.

The three robbers approached the man, who was walking along 31st Street Northwest about 2 a.m. Each of the robbers displayed a handgun and demanded money, taking $180 from the man, police said.

A 30-year-old woman was robbed by three other women early Saturday in Southwest Roanoke.

About 5 a.m., the woman was walking in the 300 block of Campbell Avenue Southwest when three women stopped her and asked if she had money. The woman struggled with her assailants, who took $140 from her, police said.

No arrests have been made in any of the incidents.
