2 CHARGED IN SUBWAY ROBBERY

Two Roanoke men were arrested in connection with the robbery of a Salem sandwich shop Friday night.

Subway Sandwiches in the 1500 block of West Main Street was robbed about 10:45 by a man with a knife, Sgt. D.R. Divers of the Salem Police Department said.

An undisclosed amount of money was taken.

About 45 minutes later, officer D.D. Woods responded to a call from a woman on Mulberry Street about a possible peeping Tom.

At the scene, Woods found two men who said they were having car problems.

Woods found in the car what he believed were items from the armed robbery, Divers said.

Raymond J. Myers, 29, and Damian N. Dodier, 19, both of the 1000 block of Campbell Avenue Southwest in Roanoke, were arrested on armed robbery charges and are being held without bond in the Salem/Roanoke County Jail.
