ROANOKE REGIONAL ECONOMIC INDICATORS

The number of vehicles traveling in the Roanoke district of the Blue Ridge Parkway has fallen steadily in the last two years. The district extends from the parkway's intersection with Virginia 24 east of Vinton to U.S. 221 at Adney Gap.

The 103,706 vehicles that traveled that stretch of the parkway last month was down 9.65 percent from 114,782 in August 1994 and down 10.8 percent from 116,282 in August 1993.
