BROWN TEEING UP FOR LOCAL CHARITY EVENT

PGA Tour professional Billy Ray Brown will be the guest for today's 14th annual Tee-Off for Sight Tournament at Roanoke's Hunting Hills Country Club.

The tournament, which benefits Prevent Blindness of Virginia, starts at 10:45 a.m.

Brown, a two-time tour winner before injuring his wrist in 1993, will play six holes each with three groups consisting of 10 area club champions.

Brown will conduct a clinic for the gallery at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $7.50 at the gate.

Virginia Tech's men's tennis team won the Navy Invitational by defeating Navy, Old Dominion and nationally-ranked University of Pennsylvania.

The Hokies opened their season by going undefeated in doubles and at first, second, fifth and sixth singles.

Penn is ranked 40th in the nation.
