COOKING SCHOOL TURNS TO OLYMPICS FOR INSPIRATION

The upcoming Olympics provide the inspiration for the Southern Living Cooking School's presentation at the Roanoke Civic Center on Oct. 6-7. The school will be hosted by the Roanoke Home Show, which will be underway concurrently.

The classes, from 10 a.m. to noon both days, will include table-tested recipes and time-saving tips for appetizers, entrees and desserts. Spectators also will receive gift bags containing the Southern Living School Olympic Celebrations cookbook, money-saving coupons and gifts from national sponsors

Bring to class a gift of a nonperishable food item and become eligible for additional prizes while you also benefit Operation Food Basket. The food basket has collected over 300,000 pounds of food for food banks across the Southeast since its inception five years ago.
