MAROONS CRUISE PAST BRIDGEWATER

Todd Hallauer, Demis Yanco and Lee Johnson score two goals each as the Roanoke College men's soccer team dumped Bridgewater 9-0 on Tuesday in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference game at the River's Edge Sports Complex.

The Maroons (6-3 overall, 3-3 ODAC) had a 4-0 lead in the first half and continued its domination after intermission.

The Roanoke women's soccer team gave Randolph-Macon a test, but it failed to pull an upset, falling 1-0.

Randolph-Macon, ranked No.1 in the South Region and No.2 in NCAA Division III, got the only goal of the game when Carrie Hall took a pass from Jennifer Kohler and scored at the 22:14 mark of the first half. Maroons goalie Kara Hedges made nine saves. Roanoke's record fell to 6-3 overall, 3-1 in the ODAC.

Kiely Munnikhysen and Beth Portell scored first-half goals as Longwood remained undefeated with a 2-0 non-conference women's soccer victory over Hollins. Longwood is 8-0-1; Hollins 3-5.

The Virginia Tech men's soccer team ran its home record to 5-0 with a 3-0 victory over Winthrop.

Freshman Stanislav Licul scored the first goal with 85 seconds gone in the first half. He added one in the second half, as did Adam Johnson. Jon DeLong had seven saves for the Hokies (5-4-2).
