PULASKI COMMITTEE TO PICK NEW DATE FOR POLITICAL FORUM

The Legislative Committee of the Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce is scheduled to meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday to set a new date for the political forum for county candidates to answer questions from the public.

The forum, originally scheduled for Thursday at New River Community College, was canceled because of the death of the father of Board of Supervisors Chairman Jerry White. White is running unopposed for re-election.

It promises to be a long forum, whenever it is set, because the county has a total of 23 candidates running for constitutional office, the Board of Supervisors and the School Board.

Two of the four constitutional officers seeking re-election have challengers, as do two of the five supervisors and four of the five School Board members. One supervisor is not seeking re-election, and two newcomers are vying for his seat.
