2ND MAN CHARGED IN ARMED ROBBERY IN BLACKSBURG

An investigation has led town police to charge a second man in a Tuesday armed robbery.

Michael Alvin Carter, 19, of the 500 block of Davis Street in Radford, was arrested Friday. He was charged with armed robbery and assault and battery.

Carter was released on a $10,000 personal recognizance bond. Arraignment is set Thursday in Blacksburg's General District Court.

Carter's arrest came during an investigation of an armed robbery reported to Blacksburg police about 2 a.m. Tuesday. A man told police that three males abducted and robbed him of an undisclosed amount of cash, then brought him to an ATM to take out more money. The man was assaulted, then released several minutes later in Montgomery County.

Thursday, police charged a Pulaski man with armed robbery, abduction, using a firearm to commit a felony and assault and battery.
