Korean War lecture

Roanoke College's Lecture Series, ``Korea and the United States: Continuity and Change,'' begins Oct. 10 at 7:30 p.m. in Antrim Chapel. Dr. Donald Nuechterlein will speak on ``Korea and Northeastern Asia in U.S. Foreign Policy.'' Admission is free. For more information, call 375-2282.

Transportation archives

The Virginia Museum of Transportation will hold a grand opening for its Resource Library and Archives on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served. Admission is free. The museum is located at 303 Norfolk Avenue SW. Call 342-5670.

``Fatherless America''

The Roanoke College Honors Program is sponsoring a two-event program on fatherless America. David Blankenhorn, author of ``Fatherless America,'' will give the keynote address Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. in Olin Theater. A panel discussion with fathers will follow the lecture. On Oct. 12 a panel discussion on the subject will be presented with Dr. John Todd of Lewis-Gale Psychiatric Center, Roanoke College Professor Eberle Smith and others. The discussion begins at 7 p.m. in Antrim Chapel. The event is free, however, reservations are required. Call 375-2333.

Museum of Theatre History

The Museum of Theatre History will open for business Oct. 10 at the Jefferson Center, 541 Luck Avenue S.W. The museum features a permanent collection of artifacts and memorabilia from previous live theater groups and performers in the Roanoke Valley. Admission is free.
