PH STUMBLES AFTER STRONG START

E.C. GLASS counters an early Patriots scoring drive and never looks back.

Patrick Henry scored on its opening possession, then watched as E.C Glass responded with 49 consecutive points in a 49-14 non-district loss for the Patriots on Friday night at Victory Stadium.

Patrick Henry put together a 10-play, 62 yard drive to start the game. The Patriots (2-3) converted on two fourth downs, including a 6-yard touchdown run by Kevin Washington on fourth-and-one. During the drive, Rashaun Martin caught passes of 15 and 24 yards from quarterback Dennis Dunnaville.

Set up by a 72-yard kickoff return by Garnet McDaniel, E.C. Glass (5-0) responded with a 2-yard touchdown run by Chris Matthews.

The Hilltoppers scored on all five of their first-half possessions.

Glass quarterback Andre Kendrick had 60 yards rushing and 76 yards passing in the first half.

Ed Scott, PH's coach, was ejected from the game for stepping on the field without calling a timeout. He must sit out the Patriots' game Oct.13 at Heritage.
