Ramsey, who also is deceased, penned a poem about his "favorite person" several years ago, titling it "Ode to Peggy'':
Some years ago, how time has flown
A young lady graced the office room
A stenographer she wanted to be
That was just what suited me.
Working for an attorney here
She'd learned to keep the records clear
People galore would come and go
They wanted mostly money and escrow
As a secretary to the Superintendent
Peggy was present or surely eminent
Arriving often ahead of time
Just to make sure that all was fine
In no way daunted by a lot of work
Her duties she would never shirk
At home, at office, duty was her forte
She countenanced no error in her court.
While at her desk, dignity was the word
Keeping things hopping, quiet as a bird
Callers who came to see the boss
Found themselves ignored or lost,
Those who wanted to cross the threshold
Saw themselves not quite so bold
Until a quiet smile, a nod of the head
Meant much more than what was said.
Typist, file clerk, Secretary, Clerk of the Board
By all who came she was most adored
A lady of charm and grace
Much in demand any place.
So here's to a Paragon of Grace Divine
Much admired in legend and clime
May her years be happy - her days never blue
Serving others - so loyal and true.
