GENERALS PASS BY DAVIDSON

QUARTERBACK BROOKS Fischer and kicker Drew Thomas star for W&L.

Brooks Fischer threw two touchdown passes and Seth McKinley ran for 100 yards on 21 carries Saturday, leading Washington and Lee to a 19-13 victory against Davidson.

Fischer, who completed 12 of 19 passes for 135 yards, found Chas Chastain on a 16-yard pass to open the scoring in the first quarter.

The Generals led 10-6 at halftime and made it 16-6 when Fischer hit Nick Hodge with a 23-yard TD pass with 91/2 minutes left in the game.

Drew Thomas added two 23-yard field goals for Washington and Lee (1-2-1), the second of which was set up by Griff Russell's second interception.

Davidson (1-4) was paced by freshman tailback Lorenzo Moll, who gained 128 yards on only 14 carries, including a 48-yarder.

Tommy Dugan scored on two 1-yard runs for the Wildcats, the second with just over five minutes remaining to draw Davidson within 16-13. Dugan had a poor day passing, though, completing 14-of-36 for 119 yards.
