Crista Coffman, best friend of the bride, was the maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Susan Duffy, cousin of the groom, and Lynette Stump, niece of the bride. Mike Brauch served as his brother's best man. The ushers were Wayne Bright, friend of the groom, and John Duffy, cousin of the groom.

The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Via Wass of Salem. She is a graduate of Mary Baldwin College and is employed by Lewis-Gale Hospital. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur J. Brauch of Salem. He is a graduate of Roanoke College and is employed by Yokohama Tire Corporation.

Carper-Hancock

Linda Gail Hancock and Robert Wayne Carper were married October 7, 1995, at Hebron United Methodist Church. The ceremony was performed by Pastor Bill St.Clair. The bride was given in marriage by Les Trivette, brother-in-law of the bride. Matron of honor was Roberta Trivette, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Tasha Zimmerman and Tracy Caldwell, friends of the bride. Flowergirl was Ashley Trivette, niece of the bride. Best man was Harris Carper, father of the groom. Ushers were Mike and Richard Carper, brothers of the groom.

The bride is the daughter of Herbie and Sue Hancock of New Castle.

The groom is the son of Harris and Patsy Carper of New Castle

Cheek-Beamer

Sara Ann Beamer and Frederick Robert Cheek were married on October Seventh at Second Presbyterian Church in Roanoke. Dr. William R. Klein performed the ceremony which was followed by a reception at Roanoke Country Club. Miss Beamer, daughter of Mrs. John Patrick Breslin of Roanoke and the late M. Franklin Beamer, was given in marriage by her brother, Robert Franklin Beamer. Her gown was Ecru Dupione silk with a basque bodice of alencon lace embroidered in pearls and sequins. The full skirt extended to a chapel length train and her finger tip veil fell from a Juliet cap.

The matron of honor was Kathryn Kistler Craft of Greensboro, North Carolina. Other attendants were Ellen Smallwood Peete, also of Greensboro, Caroline Coffer Collier of Tampa, Florida, Mary Comer Smith of Prince Edward Island, Canada, Anne Christine Cheek of Baltimore, Maryland, and Kathleen Snow Dempsey of McLean, Virginia.

Mr. Cheek is the son of Margaret Gessner Cheek of Baltimore and Carl Wayne Cheek of Atlanta. His best man was his brother, Carl Wayne Cheek, II of Baltimore. Groomsmen were Kelly Brent Adams of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, Timothy McGuire of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Michael Anthony Cavanaugh and Dean Mantzouris, both of Baltimore.

The bride and groom are graduates of James Madison University. After a wedding trip they will make their home in Baltimore.

Collins-Brouwer

Jennifer Leah Brouwer and Robert Brady Collins were married June 3, 1995 in Central United Methodist Church, Radford, Va. The officiating clergyman was Rev. Joe Green. The reception was held at Best Western Hotel in Radfo rd.

The maid of honor was Emily Brouwer, sister of the bride. The bridesmaids were Julie Clowney, Jennifer Krebs, both friends of the bride, and Jillaine DeHaan, cousin of the bride.

The best man was Brady Collins, father of the groom. The ushers were Jeff Collins, brother of the groom, Brian Dishon, friend of the groom, and Paul Fulcher, nephew of the groom. The guestbook was attended by Joe McLaughlin.

The bride is a daughter of Charlie and Glenda Brouwer, Radford, Va. She is a graduate of Radford High School and Radford University. She is employed by Art Museum of Western Virginia in Roanoke.

The bridegroom, son of Brady and June Collins of Radford, is a graduate of Radford High School and New River Community College. He is employed by Fairview Home in Pulaski.

The newlyweds will live in Radford, Va.

Colton-Booze

Anna Katherine Booze and Mark Andrew Colton were married Saturday, September 30, 1995, at the home of Mr. Willie Alexander Ransone, Jr., grandfather of the bride. The minister, James Wayne Poucher of Buchanan, Va., officiated at the double ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Katherine (Kitty) Ransone Booze and Webster Elmore Booze, Jr., of Buchanan, Va. The bride is a graduate of James River High School and James Madison University. She is a technical writer for the Claritas Corporation in Arlington, Va.

The groom is the son of Michael James Colton of Woodbridge, Va., and Darlene Drury Colton of New Orleans, La. The groom graduated from James Madison University and is employed by CDA Investment Technologies of Rockville, Maryland.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. The bride was attended by her friend from childhood, Pamela Sue Watts of Buchanan, Va. Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Ann Porten of Arlington, Va., Kristen Blair Booze of Buchanan, Va., and Sarah Jesse Strain of Roanoke, Va.

The groom's best man was his brother, John Randolph Colton of Virginia Beach, Va. Groomsmen were Greg Howland Gattis of Woodbridge, Va., and the brother of the bride, Webster Elmore Booze III of Greenville, Tennessee.

The guest book was attended by Lou Anne Rodgers of Buchanan, Va. Mrs. Sharlane Stringer Colton of Virginia Beach, Va., attended the gift table. Wendy Williams of Richmond, Va., assisted the bride with flowers. Mr. Carroll Bayne Manley of Buchanan, Va., directed the wedding.

The reception was at the residence of Mr. Willie Alexander Ransone, Jr. Music for the wedding was provided by Mrs. Barry Holland and Mrs. Clarence Stinnett of Buchanan, Va. The violinist was Leslye Gartrell of Arlington, Va.

After a wedding trip t o New Mexico, Mr. and Mrs. Colton's residence will be in Alexandria, Va.

Coogan-Spencer

Pamela Mae Spencer and Timothy Edmund Coogan were married October 7, 1995, in Saint Andrew's Catholic Church with Reverend James M. Fosnot officiating. The reception was held at Hotel Roanoke Crystal Ballroom. The matron of honor was Tina Carlston, childhood friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Angela Emery, Lisa McKinley, Tammy Truman and Kay Vest, friends of the bride. Niece of the groom, Megan Belich, was flowergirl. Christopher Coogan, brother of the groom, served as best man. Ushers were Daniel Beck, James Mannion and Michael Mannion, cousins of the groom, Fred Askins and Jeffrey Emery, friends of the groom. Ringbearer was Joshua Spencer, nephew of the bride. The bride wore an elegant sheath gown of white silk shantung. She carried a cascade bouquet of various white gardenias, roses and lilies. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank E. Spencer of Roanoke. She graduated from Northside High School and from Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia. She is employed by General Electric Company. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John P. Coogan of Gastonia, North Carolina. He graduated from Deer Lakes High School in Cheswick, Pennsylvania, and from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is employed by General Electric Company. The newlyweds will live in Roanoke, Virginia, after a wedding trip to the Caribbean.

Dales-Lucas

Melissa Gale Lucas and William Todd Dales were married October 7, 1995, in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Cloninger officiating. The reception was held at the church. The bridesmaids were Misty Wiggins and Amanda Lucas, sisters of the bride, and Melissa Pierce, friend of the bride and groom. The best m an was William H. Dales, father of the groom. Ewers-Lowman

Amy Gray Lowman and Stephen Wayne Ewers were married October 7, 1995 in Daleville Church of the Brethren with Pastor Dan Barnum-Steggerda officiating. The reception was held at LaMaison.

The matron of honor was Jennifer Stuart, sister. The bridesmaids were Kelly Goria, sister-in-law, Melissa Bowen, sister-in-law, April Lowman, sister-in-law, Jennifer Peace, Pam Williams, and Kelly Shell, all friends of the bride. Flowergirl was Jessica Bowen, niece of the groom.

The best man was Robert Ewers. The ushers were Randy Lowman, brother-in-law, Kyle Mitchell, Andy Price, Todd Mays, Sal Culosi, and Kevin Hilborne, all friends of the groom. Ringbearer was Joseph Goria. The guestbook was attended by Janine Bennett.

The bride wore a white Italian satin sheath gown accented with Venise lace featuring portrait neckline, fitted bodice with Venise lace, re-embroidered pearls and French satin sequins. The floor length sheath skirt had a detachable extended chapel length train featuring Venise lace cutouts and sequin stars.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Lowman of Daleville. She is a graduate of Lord Botetourt High School and Radford University. She is employed by Allstate Insurance Co.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ewers of Roanoke. He is a graduate of Cave Spring High School and the University of Virginia. He is employed by Norfolk Southern.

The newlyweds will live in Decatur, Ill.

Furrow-Ballard

Lori Ann Ballard and Joseph Max Furrow w ere united in marriage on October 7, 1995 at Alleghany Church of Christ in Christiansburg. Minister Paul L. Hatfield officiated. The reception followed in the Fellowship Hall.

The maid of honor was Kristin Collins, and the matron of honor was Erica Williams, friends of the bride. Bridesmaids were Emily and Sarah Ballard, cousins of the bride. The flowergirl was Carrie Lynn Grayson, the guestbook attendant was Carrie Meadows, and the program attendant was Aubrey Shoemaker, nieces of the groom.

The best man was Ward Grayson, stepfather of the groom. Groomsmen were Travis Bland, Tim Hatfield, and Jason Moore, friends of the groom. The ringbearer was Gregory Loar, friend of the bride.

The bride is the daughter of Michael Ballard and Margaret Stewart of Christiansburg. She is a graduate of Radford University and is employed by First National Bank Trust Department.

The groom is the son of Ira (Sonny) Furrow of South Carolina and Gay Grayson of Christiansburg. He is a graduate of Kentucky Christian College and is employed by Quality Floors and Faith Christian Church.

The newlyweds will reside in Christiansburg after the honeymoon.

Gallia-Nunnally

Kathy Anne Nunnally and Stephen James Gallia exchanged marriage vows in a 7:00 p.m. private ceremony at Hotel Roanoke on September 29, 1995.

Kathy is the daughter of Robert and Peggy Nunnally of Roanoke and is a REALTOR with Coldwell Banker Valley View, REALTORS.

Steve is the son of Mrs. Violet Gallia of Roanoke and the late Joseph Gallia and is the Owner/Broker of Coldwell Banker Valley View, REALTORS.

After a honeymoon cruise in the Caribbean, the couple will return to their home in Roanoke.

Gasser-Smith

Angela Elizabeth Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Teddy Woolwine and the late Donald Wray Smith, all of Christiansburg, and Christopher Jay Gasser, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Joseph Gasser of Fairfax Station, Virginia, were married Saturday, June 24, 1995 at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Christiansburg. Reverend Douglas Kanney officiated. A reception was held following the ceremony at the Blacksburg Marriott.

The bride was escorted to the altar by her stepfather and brother, and given in marriage by her brother. Jennifer Pittman of Ashburn, Virginia, friend of the bride, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Kelly Mays of Baltimore, Maryland, Carol Green of Centreville, Virginia, and Pamela Jones of Memphis, Tennessee, all friends of the bride, and Rhonda Atkinson of Fairfax Station, Virginia, sister of the groom.

Rudolph Gasser served as his son's best man. Groomsmen were Scott Pence of Fairfax, Virginia, Joe Grant of Alexandria, Virginia, and Michael Rogers of Fairfax, Virginia, all friends of the groom. Also attending the groom was Donald Smith, Jr. of Rocky Mount, Virginia, brother of the bride.

Flowergirls were Amy Atkinson and Amanda Atkinson, nieces of the groom. The guestbook was kept by Heather Boyd, friend of the bride. Music was provided by Anna Clabaugh and Melissa Rear. The wedding was directed by Nancy Moye.

The groom is a graduate of Thomas A. Edison High School and Virginia Tech, and is completing his Master's degree at George Mason University. He is employed by Vredenburg Corporation in Reston, Virginia.

The couple has made their home in Alexandria, Virginia after their wedding trip to Anguilla.

Harner-Blackwell

Jennifer Lea Blackwell and Andrew Stephen Harner were married October 7, 1995, in Union Grove Baptist Church, Kernersville, N. C., with Rev. Ty Talton and Rev. Ellen Sechrest officiating. The reception was held at Magnolia Manor. The maid of honor was Jeanae Blackwell, sister of bride. Bridesmaids were Leslie Belsha, Anita Frye, Tracey Keith, Melissa Mills, Pam Rundle, Anne Vines and Iris Wilkins, friends of bride. Flowergirl was Katherine Blackwell, cousin of bride. The best man was Michael Harner, brother of groom. Ushers included Joe Harner, brother of groom, Jeff Blackwell, Duane Burks, Steve Light, Thomas Mabry, Steve Munro, and Tim Peters, friends of groom. Ringbearer was Jonathan Harner, nephew of groom, and page was Phillip Harner, nephew of groom. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James A. Blackwell, Kernersville, N. C. She is a graduate of Meredith College, Raleigh, N. C., and is employed by Baptist Children's Homes of N. C. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph P. Harner, Roanoke. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia and is employed by Quantum Medical Business Service. The newlyweds will live in High Point, N. C., after a wedding trip to Barbados.

Howard-Stingley

April Lynette Stingley and Anthony A. Howard were united in marriage September 23 in Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. The Rev. Robert Sadler officiated. The reception was held at the Rev. S.L. Reynolds Fellowship Hall at the church.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

The bride wore a white, long sleeved princess lace bridal gown. Lace medallions, sequins and pearls adorned the neckline and V-back. Lace over satin bodice and cuffs of the long lace sleeves with a chapel-length train. A fingertip-length veil adorned with sequins, silk roses and pearls completed the look. A bouquet of white stephanotis, white lilies, wine and white roses, accented by ivy, was carried by the bride.

The maid of honor was Mona Adams. Bridesmaids were Tammy Eubank and Jill Mays. Flowergirl was Meredith Dudding, all friends of the bride and groom.

The groom's father was best man. Groomsmen were Earl Eubank, fiend of the bride and groom; and Joey McClung, cousin of the bride. Ringbearer was Robert Lacks, friend of the bride and groom.

Sonya Smith attended the guestbook and Melissa Jarrells distributed the programs, both friends of the bride and groom.

David Austin sung ``The Rose'' and ``I Swear'' and Carolyn Norton was pianist. Ginger Stingley, the bride's mother, designed the flowers, and David Gregg was in charge of video. Helping serve at the reception was Darys Cahoon, Jennie Cahoon, and Gail Hipes.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Stingley of Fincastle. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Clar ence Hipes of Fincastle, and Mrs. Grace Stingley of Roanoke, and the late Mr. Lawrence Stingley. She is a graduate of James River High School and National Business College, and is employed by Country Girl Crafts.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Howard of Roanoke. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. H. V. Lucado of Troutville. He is a graduate of Northside High School and is employed by Connex Pipe Systems.

After a wedding trip to Virginia Beach, the couple will live in Botetourt County.

Catherine Mae Austin and Paul Vernon Howell were united in marriage on October 7, 1995, at Calvary Baptist Church in Roanoke. Rev. M. Dennis Herman, Rev. Richard Ecklund and Dr. Harry Y. Bridesmaids were Laura Wright and Sonya Austin, friends of the bride. Flowergirl was Hannah Austin-Grantham, daughter of a friend. Best man was Paul M. Howell, father of the groom. Groomsmen were Thomas Hardesty and David O'Brien, friends of the groom. Ushers were Tony Gurley and Franz Beisser IV, friends of the groom. Soloists were Betsy Biesenbach and Martha Thompson. Janice Humphreys was the organist. The guestbook was attended by Chad Thomas Marks, cousin of the bride.

She is employed by General Electric Drive Systems. The groom is the son of Paul M. and Ruby V. Howell of Roanoke and grandson of Sadie Howell of Roanoke. He is a graduate of Cave Spring High School and Virginia Polytechnic Inst. & State Univ. He is employed by Volvo GM Heavy Truck. The newlyweds will live in Roanoke after a trip to Walt Disney World, Florida, with an overnight stop at Jekyll Island, Georgia.
