CELEBRATIONS - WEDDINGS II

Ladd-Wood

Deborah Smith Wood and William Douglas Ladd were married October 7, 199 5, in New Life Temple Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Eddie Crabtree officiating. The reception was held at The Jefferson Club.

The pianist was Miss Heather Smith of Roanoke. Vocalists were Ken and Brenda Thornsbury of Roanoke. The flowergirl was Miss Jessica Rodgers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Rodgers of Salem.

The ushers were Kenneth Rodgers of Salem, and Ken Thornsbury of Roanoke. Ringbearer was Lewis Guy Norton IV, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Guy Norton III of Collinsville.

The bride wore a tea length dress of ivory satin and lace. She carried a bouquet of roses and baby's breath.

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Alene Johnson Smith of Collinsville, and the late Mr. Dewey S. ``Buck'' Smith. She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina, and is employed by First Union Corporation.

The groom is the son of Mrs. Virginia Ladd of Asheville, N.C., and the late Mr. W. Roy Ladd. He is a graduate of Western Carolina University, and is employed by First Union Corporation.

The newlyweds will live in Salem, after their wedding trip to New England.

Myers-Biggs

Britt Anna Biggs and Thomas Edgar Myers, Jr., were married Saturday, September 30, 1995, at Christ Episcopal Church in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Reverend Joshua T. MacKenzie officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Arthur Biggs of Elizabeth City. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Edgar Myers of Roanoke.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore her mother's wedding gown.

The maid of honor was Margo Fearing Jackson of Elizabeth City.

Bridesmaids were Anna Moriah Myers, the groom's sister of Roanoke, Emily Elizabeth Andrews of Wake Forest, Julie Tierney of Winston-Salem, Sarah Elizabeth Brown of Norfolk, and Tisha Edrington of Cordova, Tennessee.

Their dresses were navy floor length sheaths with bateau necklines accented by flat shoulder bows. They carried garden flowers of yellows and blue.

The groom's father served as the best man.

The ushers were Stewart Davidson Myers, the groom's brother of Richmond, Aaron Keeley Michalove, the groom's cousin of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Douglas Bruce Biggs, the bride's brother of Elizabeth City, S.J. Khebbal of Copthorne, England, George Christian Guvernator IV of Richmond, James H. W. Crawford IV of Raleigh, North Carolina, Henry B. Greenburg, Jr., of Richmond, and James L. Maxwell III of Goldsboro, North Carolina.

The bride is a graduate of Salem College and is employed by the Elizabeth City-Pasquotauk County Schools.

The groom is a graduate of North Cross School and Washington and Lee University. He is employed as a commercial banker by First Union National Bank.

After a wedding trip the The Greenbrier, the couple will reside in Elizabeth City.

Peters-Stamus

Maria Elena Stamus and Stephen John Peters were married Saturday, October 7, 1995 in Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church with the Reverend Nicholas Bacalis officiating. The reception was held at the Sheraton Inn.

The matron of honor was Stephanie DeMaurice, cousin of the bride. The bridesmaids were Annette Stamus and Melanie Mandros, cousins of the bride; Keeley Peters, daughter of the groom; Brenda Lambert, sister of the groom; and Debi Gray, friend of the bride.

The best man was Raymond Peters, father of the groom. The koumbaro was Tony Stamus, brother of the bride. The ushers were Jason Peters and Elliott Peters, sons of the groom; Mike Stamus, brother of the bride; and Kim Austin, friend of the groom. The candlelighters were Tony Stamus and Mike Stamus. The bride's gown was an heirloom gown of slipper satin and lace embroidered with seed pearls and lace appliques worn by her mother. She carried a bouquet of gardenias and eucalyptus.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Stamus of Roanoke. She is a graduate of Northside High School and Radford University. She is a self employed agent with Nationwide Insurance Company.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Peters of Roanoke. He is a graduate of Cave Spring High School and attended Virginia Western Community College. He is employed by Eck Supply Company.

The newlyweds will live in Salem, after their wedding trip to Jamaica.

Randolph-Harper

Rebecca Leigh Harper and Chad Martin Randolph were married October 7, 1995 in Christ Episcopal Church, Blacksburg, Va. The officiating clergymen were the Rev. Larry Handwerk, uncle of the bride, and the Rev. Clare Fischer-Davies. The reception was held at Donaldson Brown Center.

The maid of honor was Catherine Harper of Charlotte, N.C., sister of the bride. The matron of honor was Heidi Christopher of Roanoke, sister of the bride. The bridesmaids were Lauren Randolph of Naperville, Ill., sister of the groom; Samantha Noona of Tracie, Oregon, Donna Wendt of Decatur, lll., Suzanne Wones of Blacksburg, all friends of the bride. Flowergirl was Sarah Bentley of Evanston, Ill.

The best man was Brian Randolph of Naperville, Ill, brother of the groom. The grooms party were Kevin Zielke of Naperville, Ill., Michael Gapen of Bloomington, Indiana, Amy Kampshroeder of Naperville, Ill., Rob Norton of Indianapolis, Ind., all friends of the groom; and Thomas Harper of Ft. The bride wore a gown of natural silk shantung with a sweetheart neckline. The fitted bodice and short sleeves featured beaded and pearled lace appliques. The veed back was softly edged with beaded lace. The full skirt and semi-cathedral length train were edged with seeded alencon lace. She carried a bouquet of white roses, lilies and ivy.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Wilson Harper of Blacksburg, Va. She is a grad uate of the University of Virginia and Northwestern University. She is employed by Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte, N.C.

The groom is the son of Mrs. Linda Randolph of Naperville, Ill, and the late Mr. John Randolph. He is a graduate of Augustana College and Northwestern University. He is employed by Carolina Physical Therapy Associates.

The newlyweds will live in Charlotte, N.C., after their wedding trip to Maui, Hawaii.

Rockwell-Rader

Lori Ann Rader and David Andrew Rockwell were married September 23, 1995 in Saunders Grove Church of the Brethren, Moneta, Va., with C. Berkley Stevens, Minister, officiating. The reception was held at Chamblissburg Ruritan Center.

Matron or honor was Dawn R. Howell, sister of the bride. The bridesmaids were Beth Stainback and Cindy Rockwell, sisters of the groom; Jennifer Goad, friend of the couple; and Christy Braul, friend of the bride. Flowergirl was Kristen Stainback, niece of the groom.

Shively-Sigmon

Angela Carol Sigmon and Durand Leigh Shively were united in marriage on Saturday, October 7, 1995 at two o'clock in the afternoon, at the homeplace of the bride's great-grandfather, Mr. W.W. Custer, in Callaway, Va.

The Rev. Tony Emmons performed the double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Bobby and Loretta Sigmon of Boones Mill. The bridegroom is the son of Rod and Judy Shively of Ferrum. The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

The brides gown was of ivory satin, with off the shoulder cap sleeves, the bodice was lace overlay with a basque waist, with chapel train. She carried a silk cascading bouquet of ivy, ivory bridal roses and carnations, which was arranged by the bride.

Matron of honor was Donna Stanley, sister of the bride. Bridal attendants were Joy Cundiff, sister of the groom, Rissa Craighead, Lynn Quinn, and Traci Moore, friends of the bride. The attendants wore matching dark teal two-piece dresses made by Lorraine Roberts, aunt of the bride. They carried lace fans accented with roses and ribbons, made by the bride. Flower girls were Lauren Stanley, niece of the bride, and AnnKate Sledd, cousin of the bride.

Rod Shively served as his son's best man. Groomsmen were Richard Young, Billy Walker, Johnathan Hanks, and Joey Hall, all friends of the groom. Ring bearer was Ryan Shively, nephew of the groom.

Levi Stanley, nephew of the bride, and Decon Sledd, cousin of the bride, pulled out the aisle runner.

A program of music was provided by Mary Alice Bowman, keyboard; and soloist, Stephen Custer, cousin of the bride. Guest book attendants were Chris Sigmon, brother of the bride, and Karen Young, friend of the bride.

A reception was held at the American Legion in Callaway. Entertainment was provided by David Cannady, discjockey.

After a cruise to the Western Caribbeans, the couple will reside in Rocky Mount.

The bride is a graduate of Franklin County High and VWCC, and is employed by the V.A. Hospital in Salem.

The groom is a graduate of Franklin County High and attended VWCC. He is self-employed.

Sondregger-Gadd

Sondra Diane Gadd and Stephan Jon Sondregger were married October 8, 1995 in Seashore State Park, with the Rev. Bill Acosta officiating. The reception was held at Virginia Beach Resort Hotel.

Matron of honor was Deborah Ste wart, friend. The bridesmaids were Laura Hamilton, Denise Ferranti, and Noelle Nichols, all friends. Flowergirl was Lauren Stewart.

The best man was Chris Sondregger, brother of the groom. Ushers were Tom Landry, Wade Richardson, and Scot Lawson, all friends. Ringbearer was Jonathan Sondregger, the groom's son. The guestbook attendant was Cherie Johnson.

The bride is the daughter of John Gadd, and the late Catherine Gadd. She is a graduate of Cave Spring High School and Virginia Wesleyan College, Norfolk, Va. 1995.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David (Karen) Sondregger of Palm Harbor, Fla. He is a graduate of Northeast High School, St. Petersburg, Fla.

The newlyweds will live in Palm Harbor, Fla., after their wedding trip to Hawaii.

VanDalsen-Coleman

Kristina Marie Coleman and Jeffrey Duane VanDalsen were married September 16, 1995 in The Wedding Chapel. Minister C. Sherwood Spence officiated the ceremony. The reception was held at the groom's parents home.

The maid of honor was Julieanna Coleman, sister. The best man was Kyle Grant, friend. Ushers were Mike Caldwell and Tim McFarland, friends. Guestbook attendant was Amy Long.

The bride carried a bouquet o f peach roses and carnations. She is a daughter of Marie Coleman of Roanoke, and is a 1995 graduate of Northside High School. She is employed by Lewis-Gale Clinic. The bridegroom, son of Duane and Linda VanDalsen of Roanoke, is a 1991 graduate of William Fleming High School. He is employed by Lewis-Gale Clinic.

She received her commercial license and Instrument Rating from American Flyers Flight School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and she is a certified flight instructor. Mitchen, sister of the bride of Huddleston, Va.; Betty T. Nance, friend of the bride of Moneta, Va.; and Amy G. Woolridge, friend of the bride of Huddleston, Va. Junior attendants were Holly N. Overstreet, cousin of the bride of Huddleston, Va.; and Kori J. Weeks, niece of the groom of Lynchburg, Va. Flowergirl was Alexandria G. Hubbard, cousin of the bride of Virginia Beach, Va.

Special music was provided by Jeff Fowler and the Palestine Children's Choir: Brittany Bays, Jessica Bhon, Rebecca Capobianco, Allison Coins, Daisy Ferguson, Jared Ferguson, Marcie Ferguson, Katie Fowler, Christopher O'Malley, Daniel O'Malley, Tray Tuck, and Tyler Tuck.

The bride wore a white satin gown with sweetheart neckline, low back, fitted sleeves and waistline. The straight fitted shirt featured a large bow in the back which attached the cathedral train appliqued with lace. She wore a hat with scalloped penciled edge pouf, all were accented with pearls and sequins. She carried a white bible, given to her by a very special friend, Mrs. Ruby D. Key of Bedford, Va. The bible was covered with a beautiful lace shirting, borrowed from the groom's mother, and was topped with a lovely arrangement of white roses, baby's breath, lace, pearls and ivy.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willis R. Mitchen of Huddleston, Va.; and the granddaughter of Mrs. Frances F. Overstreet of Huddleston, Va. She is a graduate of Staunton River High School and attended Central Virginia Community College and Liberty Univer sity. She is employed by First Union Bank, Bedford, Va.

The groom is the son of Mrs. Norman L. Eades of Goodview, Va., and Mr. Charles W. Weeks of Salem, Va.; and is the grandson of Mrs. Madeline E. Weeks of Roanoke, Va. He is a graduate of Staunton River High School and attended Bluefield College. He is employed by Nobel Met, LTD, Salem, Va.

The newlyweds will live in Huddleston, Va., after a cruise to the Caribbean Islands.

Werrell-Rothwell

Jennifer Ann Rothwell and Bradley Harrison Werrell were married August 19, 1995 in Hartford, Wisconsin. Rev. Laura Loving officiated. The reception was held at Seven Seas Restaurant.

The matron of honor was Mercedes Rothwell, the bride's sister. Bridesmaid was Rebecca Heidenreich, the bride's sister. The flowergirl was Sara Rothwell, daughter of the bride.

The best man was Chris Callaghan, friend of the groom. The usher was Frederick Werrell, brother of the groom.

The bride is a daughter of Dr. and Mrs. David J. Rothwell of Brookfield, Wi. She is a graduate of Carleton College with a M.A. from Cardinal Stritch College, and is employed by Rockbridge County Public School System.

The bridegroom, son of Kenneth and Jeanne Werrell of Christiansburg, Va., is a graduate of Radford High School and Carleton College in Northfield, Mn. He is self-employed.
