MUSEUM PLANS HALLOWEEN FUND-RAISER

Ghoulish goodies and beastly brews will make up a monstrous buffet to be catered by Corned Beef & Co. for the Art Museum of Western Virginia's Halloween party. The fund-raiser, at a private residence at 8 p.m. on Oct. 27, is one of two events among the year's series of Dinner a l'Art parties for which tickets are still available. A costume or simple mask is appropriate attire. Tickets are $35.

For $15 per ticket, the diners will get fruits, finger sandwiches, juices, sweets, plus a magnificent performance of magic by Matt Brown. The festivities, in the museum's first-floor gallery, will begin at 2 p.m. on Nov. 5.
