ALBERT, Elaine Marie, 57, of Bumpass, formerly of Warm Hearth Village, Blacksburg, died Monday, October 9, 1995. She is survived by her husband, John B. Albert; her parents, Marvin Ray and Dorothy Walker Marshall; a son, Donald R. Albert; four daughters, Teresa L. Albert, Tanya S. Bennett, Trena L. Low and Shirl L. Taylor; three sisters, Anita Smith, Vera Matthews, Kathleen Perdue; two brothers, Richard Marshall and Timothy Marshall; and twelve grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted thursday, October 12, 1995, at 2 p.m. at the First Church of God in Blacksburg, with the Rev. Edward L. Smith and the Rev. Ron Puttman officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. The family will receive friends Thursday at 12:30 p.m. until service time at the church. BALL, Emmett O., 78, of Roanoke, died Tuesday, October 10, 1995, in a local hospital. He was retired from Huttig Sash and Door Company. Surviving are his wife, Rena D. Ball; a son and daughter-in-law, Earl D. Sr. and Joyce G. Ball; grandson and wife, Earl D. Jr and Cinde Ball; granddaughter, Robin D. Ball; great-granddaughters, Hannah and Michaela Ball, all of Route 1, Vinton; a brother, Bill Ball, Moneta; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's Roanoke Chapel at 3 p.m. Thursday, October 12, 1995, with the Rev. Jim Moran and the Rev. Mike Werle officiating. BURROW, Willard R. a resident of Cleveland, TN, died Sunday in a local hospital. He was a native of Asheboro, NC, and was a former resident of Roanoke, VA. He was a retired Executive with Burlington Industries and a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the American Legion Post #81, V.F.W. Post #2598, and the Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks #1944. He was of the Presbyterian faith. He is preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Mary Coltrane Burrow. Survivors include: one brother, Jessie W. Burrow of Asheboro, NC; two sisters, Ruby Baldwin of Asheboro, NC, and Minnie Sando of Rochester, NY; several nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 8 P.M. in the chapel at the Griss om Funeral Home, Cleveland, TN, with the Rev. Gilbert Roberts officiating. Entombment will be Wednesday at 10 A.M. in the Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Cleveland, TN. ELLIS, Margaret Northcross, 85, of Elliston died Monday, October 9, 1995. She was preceded in death by her husband Leon Alexander Ellis. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. K.C. Quinn of Richmond, VA. FAIRBAIRN, Andrew Douglas, 35, of Newport, died Monday, October 9, 1995. He was the beloved son of Joyce and James Hoerner of Newport, and Ralph Fairbairn of Miami, Fla. Besides his mother, stepfather and father he leaves two brothers, Stephen Fairbairn, St. Petersburg, Fla. and Michael Fairbairn, Miami, Fla.; two stepbrothers, Mark Hoerner, Knoxville, Tenn., and Steven Hoerner, Jessup, Ga.; stepsister, Deborah Buchanan, Lynn, Mass.; grandmother, Louella B. Stephens. Andrew was a 1977 graduate of Blacksburg High School. He was the first recipient of the T. Marshall Hahn Scholarship to the College of Engineering at VA Tech. There will be a private memorial service in St. Petersburg, Fla. The family requests that in lieu of flowers a memorial contribution may be made in Andrew D. FERGUSON, Hazel Greer, 70, of Ferrum, died Monday morning, October 9, 1995, at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Ferguson; and a son, Wayne Compton. HOEL, Ernest W., 70, of Roanoke, passed away Tuesday, October 10, 1995. Mr. Hoel was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Hoel and his brother, U. A. Hoal. Surviving are his wife, Jeanne W. JOHNSON, James Boyd, 74, of Christiansburg died Monday, October 9, 1995 after a lengthy battle with cancer. James was born February 3, 1921 in Facquies County, Va. to the late Richard and Eulalia Rollins Johnson. Preceded in death by his wife Bessie and two sons. He worked for over 30 years for Norfolk and Western Railroad and a long time member of Schaeffer Memorial Baptist Church Senior Choir, Christiansburg. Loved ones remaining are three daughters and sons-in-law, Helen and Clarence Ferrell, Radford, Eulalia and Reggie Mills, Shirley and Richard Akers, Christiansburg; son and daughter-in-law, Rufus and Martha Johnson, Alexandria; grandchildren, Julian, Shera, Michael, Howard, Richard, Sheila, Elizabeth, Sharemka, Sharron, Tamika, Novell, and Ray Jr.; great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and cherished friends. A memorial service will be conducted, Thursday, October 12, 1995 at 2 p.m. at Schaeffer Memorial Baptist church. MOORE, Elizabeth Scott, 83, of Roanoke, died Monday, October 9, 1995. She was the widow of Charles Dalton Moore and a member of Greene Memorial United Methodist Church. Mrs. Moore is survived by a special cousin, Marguarita Leslie Wilks, Roanoke; a number of nieces and nephews, including a special niece Kay Mullen Tate, Roanoke; nephew, Neil Mullen, Roanoke. MOSES, Clifton W., 76, of Roanoke, passed away Tuesday, October 10, 1995. He is survived by his wife, Lou Moses; one son, Clifton Lovell, New Jersey; brother, Marvin Moses, Roanoke; sister, Linda M. RILEY, Charles Edward, 44, of Lexington, died Saturday, October 7, 1995. Born June 4, 1951, in Rockbridge Co., he was the son of Delilah F. Riley of Fairfield and the late Charles Gardner Riley. He was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church and was a driver-mechanic with B.B.Ayers & Sons Construction. VINSON, Ethel Linkous, 80, of Petersburg, and formerly of Roanoke, died Monday, October 9, 1995 in Petersburg. She was the widow of Earl D. Vinson, and a member of West End Presbyterian Church. WIMMER, Ervin E., (``Ridge""), 68, of Chesapeake, died Tuesday, October 10, 1995, in a Chesapeake hospital. Mr. Wimmer had retired from NNSY as a Master Boiler Maker in 1986 after 28 years. He was honored several times for ``High Quality"" and ``Superior Job Performance"" during his employment. He was an Army veteran during the Korean Conflict, rising to the rank of Master Sergeant. He was a member of Fleet Reserve Branch #40, and Green Hill Church of the Brethren in Salem. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Wimmer; a daughter, Cindy Wimmer; two stepsons, Hal Phillips and Tim Phillips, all of Chesapeake; three sisters, Mary Ellen LaPrad, New Castle, Lillian Wells, Virginia Beach, Joyce Ann Long, Hampton; two brothers, Allan Wimmer and Earl Wimmer, Salem, and four grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday at Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel, with the Rev. Forest O. Wells officiating. Private burial will be in the Wimmer Family Cemetery in Salem.
