HEALTH BENEFITS FOR SENIORS TO BE DISCUSSED|

Cultural Awareness Redemptive Education, a community organization, and the Pulaski County Social Services Department will sponsor a free health benefits forum for county senior citizens starting at 10:30 a.m. today at the T.G. Howard Community Center on Altoona Street.

Pulaski County Clerk Woody Lookabill will speak on legal issues pertaining to senior adults. Sharon Homiak will discuss Medicaid. Commissioner of Revenue Maynard Sayers will address tax relief, and Brenda Thomas with Social Services will cover benefits through her department.

Lunch will be served at noon, followed by a question and answer session. The county Health Department will be available to give free blood pressure checks.

CARE was originally organized to address some needs of at-risk youth in the community. It is expanding its role to reach out to senior adults.
