MONTGOMERY SCHOOL BOARD CANDIDATES DEBATE|

Montgomery County residents who haven't decided which School Board candidate to vote for can see and hear from the 10 hopefuls Thursday night.

The Montgomery County League of Women Voters, along with local PTAs, is sponsoring a School Board candidate forum at Blacksburg High School at 7:30 p.m.

Candidates will give opening remarks, then answer questions turned in by the audience. Judy Snoke of the League of Women Voters will moderate.

Voters will choose from the following candidates:

In District B, which covers the Ellett Valley and part of Christiansburg: Straight Street Director Bob Anderson; Virginia Tech professor Bernard Jortner; Virginia Tech's Institute for Youth and Minority Entrepreneurship Director Oscar Williams.

In District E, which includes parts of Blacksburg and the McCoy area: Radford Army Ammunition Plant utilities operator Victor Sheppard; retired Virginia Tech professor Jack LeDoux; Radford Army Ammunition Plant utilities union president Mike Smith.

In District F, which stretches from Blacksburg north to the Giles County border: incumbent Dick Edwards; Virginia Tech professor Jim Klagge.

In District G, which covers much of Blacksburg: incumbent Peggy Arrington; Virginia Tech professor Wat Hopkins.
