BOSWELL, Richard D., (``Buster""), 65, of Forsyth County, N.C., quietly departed this life on Friday, October 20, 1995. He entered this world on March 7, 1930, and quietly departed on Friday, October 20, 1995. He was born in Forsyth County, N.C.,and spent his early childhood years in Burlington, N.C., and the greater part of his adult life in Durham and Creedmore, N.C. Richard returned to Burlington, N.C., eight years ago and was a resident of The Elon Village Home. He was employed by Vocational Trades of Alamance. He was preceded in death by Cornelius Faucette Boswell and the late Ruby Bateman Boswell Wagoner. He is survived by his stepfather, Mr. Luther Wagoner of Elon College, N.C.; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Batts of Farmville, Mrs. Pat Clapp of Burlington; six brothers, Mr. C.F. Boswell Jr. of Greensboro, N.C., Mr. Bill Boswell of Roanoke, Mr. Bob Boswell of York, S.C., Mr. Frank Wagoner of Austell, Ga., Mr. Doug Wagoner of High Point, N.C., Mr. Vaughn Wagoner of Raleigh, N.C.; 20 nieces and nephews; 12 grandnieces and nephews. Funeral will be Sunday, October 22, 1995, 2 p.m., at East Burlington Church of God, where Mr. Boswell was a member. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery. Rev. Dennis Page, Pastor of East Burlington Church of God and Rev. Tommy Gregory, Pastor of Friendship Baptist Church will officiate. The family will be at the Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington, N.C. from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday. CRAFT, Naomi Riddleberger, 86, of Springwood, died Thursday, October 19, 1995. She is survived by two sons, James M. Riddleberger, Buchanan, William R. Riddleberger, Twin Falls, Idaho; two sisters, Clara Yono, Waynesboro; Allie Marshall, Richmond; two brothers, Cline B. Farrell, Fincastle; James P. Farrell, Pilot Hill, Calif.; five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 22, 1995, 1:30 p.m. at the Andrew Chapel Methodist Church, with the Rev. EBERT, Lee Allen II, 44, of 248 Thwaite Lane, Winchester, died Friday, October 22, 1995, at his residence. Mr. Ebert was born June 23, 1951 in Winchester, Va., the son of Lee Allen Ebert Sr. and Joan Farrell Ebert of Winchester, Va. Mr. Ebert was a professional land surveyor and owner of L. Allen Ebert Surveying and also owned Ebert Reproduction and Supply. He was a member of the Virginia Association of Surveyors, a volunteer at the Winchester medical Center Emergency Room, past president an d volunteer of the Concern Hotline and was a member of the Local Spiritual Assembly of the Baha' is of Frederick County and Charlottesville, Va. He was a graduate of the University of Virginia. Mr. Ebert married Sallie Lukens April 4, 1970 in Christiansburg, Va. Surviving, with his wife and parents, are three daughters, Jennifer Sara Ebert, Richmond, Maryam Joan Ebert and Sara Juliet Ebert, both at home; and one sister, Ann Marie Poulsen, Centerville. A memorial service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, October 28, 1995, at the Braddock Street United Methodist Church, with the Baha'i Community officiating. Interment will be private in Mount Hebron Cemetery. Pallbearers will be William C. Lukens, John D. Lukens, Jeffrey Lefkowitz, Daniel Farrand, Dr. Roger Poulsen and Angus Goodson. GRAY, Robert Augusta, 63, of Roanoke, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 20, 1995. He was born May 10, 1932 and was a member of the Seventeenth Street Baptist Church, where he previously served as a Deacon, and Teacher of the Adult Sunday School Class. Mr. Gray fought a long, hard battle with heart disease. He was retired from Safety Motor Transit Bus Company. With the help of the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation, Mr. Gray was able to open and operate Gray's Ambulette Service from 1975 to 1979. On the first day of 1979 he suffered a massive heart attack. He served in the United States Army and is survived by his wife of twenty-seven years, Violet Powell Gray; two daughters, Audrey Martin, Vinton, Donna Johnson, Roanoke; one stepdaughter, Penny Campbell, Roanoke; two brothers, Clayton E. Gray Sr. and Allen Gray, both of Roanoke; four sisters, Marie Keith, Troutville, Onelius Wright, Roanoke, Emma Jean Craft of Georgia, Patricia Delp, Blue Ridge; two grandsons, Timothy Martin, Michael Gambrell; one granddaughter, Erica Johnson; one stepgranddaughter, Christy Campbell. Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 22, 1995, 3:30 p.m., at the Rader Troutville Chapel, with the Rev. Kenneth Gray and the Rev. Roger L. Graves officiating. HANNABASS, Purney Overstreet, 90, of Roanoke, formerly of Botetourt County, died Friday, October 20, 1995. Born in Bedford County, she was a daughter of the late John William and Birta Woods Overstreet. She was a member of Woodland Church, Troutville, for 57 years and was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Wesley Hannaba ss. Surviving are two daughters, Mary Catherine Hannabass, Roanoke, Barbara Joyce Ramsey, Vinton; son and daughter-in-law, Wesley Elton and Doris Hannabass, Roanoke; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ossie and Edgar Carter, Bedford, Frankie and Theo Williamson, Newport News; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Overstreet, Rocky Mount; four granddaughters and their spouses, Frances and Johnnie Reams, Vinton, Lisa and Mike Wright, Terry and Eddie Francisco, Roanoke, Sharon and Christopher Slate, Raleigh, N.C.; great-grandchildren, Rene and Mark Sobota, Fort Hood, Texas, Jeffrey Reams, Vinton, Stephen Reams, Mannheim, Germany, Kristyn and Sarah Francisco, Samuel and James Wright, all of Roanoke; foster son, Basil Hall, Hooks, Texas; several nieces and nephews. HOLLAND, William L., (``Billy""), 53, of Roanoke, passed away Thursday, October 19, 1995 in a local hospital. He was preceded in death by his father, John L. Holland, four brothers, John L. Holland Jr., Johnny E. Holland, Bobby B. Holland, Donald E. Saunders. Survivors include his wife, Betty C. Holland; one son , William F. Holland; grandchildren, Natasha and Dannel Holland, all of Bedford; mother, Blanch A. Holland; one brother, Thomas C. Holland; three sisters, Ann J. (Jackie) Beale, Shirley Akers, Gaynell Akerson; one brother-in-law, Robert (June) Akerson, all of Roanoke; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. LINDSAY, Luna M., 75, of Fredericksburg, died Thursday, October 19, 1995, at her residence. Mrs. Lindsay was a resident of Bedford before retiring to Fredericksburg 10 years ago. She was born February 27, 1920, in Gary, W.Va., to the late John Joseph Andring and Luna M. Carter Haislip. Mrs. Lindsay was the widow of Allie S. Lindsay Jr. She is survived by three daughters, Patsy Thompson of Fredericksburg, Laverne Dwyer of Fredericksburg, and Theresa Diffendal of Franklin, Tenn.; a son, Danny Lindsay, Lynchburg; two sisters, Libby Underwood, Pulaski, Betty Heinouer of Texas; ten grandchildren; one great-grandson. SMITH, Beulah Marie, of Bluefield, Va., died Friday, October 20, 1995, in a Salem nursing home. She was born in Bluefield, Va,. and was a daughter of the late Charles R. and Hilda Caldwell Carbaugh. She was of the Protestant faith and was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Franklin Smith. She was also preceded in death by one son and two brothers. Surviving are one daughter, Pauline Hoops, Daleville; two brothers, Orrin Carbaugh and Donald Carbaugh, Bluefield, Va.; one sister, Louise Caldwell, Bluefield, Va.; four granddaughters; four great-granddaughters. WHITLOCK, Florence Palmer, 82 of Christainsburg, died Friday, Oct. 20, 1995 in Montgomery Regional Hospital. She was the widow of Charles Otho Whitlock and is survived by sons and daughters-in-law; Bill Palmer, Wayne & Patricia Whitlock, Pete & Becky Whitlock, all of Christainsburg; Bob & Linda Whitlock, Dublin; a daughter and son-in-law, Anita & Lee Duncan, Jr., Dublin; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. WINKLER, Megan Nicole, 11, of Roanoke, died Thursday, October 19, 1995 at her residence. She was born in Portland, Oregon on January 25, 1984, a daughter of Carey Lynn Winkler and Catherine Marie Crawley Winkler. She was a student at Cave Spring Junior High School. In addition to her parents, she is survived by a sister, Melissa C. Winkler, Roanoke; her paternal grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. Bert Winkler, McMinnville, Ore.; her maternal grandfather, Larry Crawley; and maternal grandmother, Mary Lou Crawley, both of Portland, Ore.; her paternal great-grandmother, Elsie Winkler, Blackfoot, Idaho. Funeral services will be held in Portland, Oregon. The family requests memorials be made to Make A Wish Foundation. Arrangements are being handled by Blue Ridge Cremation Service.

WISHART, Janie Semones Tuck, of Roanoke, died Friday, October 20, 1995. She was a native of Franklin County and retired from the City of Roanoke Health Department. She was preceded in death by a son, Danny O. Tuck. Surviving are her husband, Fred J. Wishart of Roanoke; two grandchildren, Brian and Sarah Tuck of Delaware; one brother, Walter Semones of Waynesboro. Funeral services will be held at the graveside Sherwood Memorial Park 11 a.m. Monday, October 23,1995, with the Rev. John E. Wallace officiating. WORTHAM, Violet Wade, 93, of Roanoke, passed away Friday morning at Richfield Nursing Center. She was the widow of Thomas Feild Wortham, a member of Windsor Hills United Methodist Church. She was also a member for over 50 years of the Order of the Eastern Star, serving in the Blacksburg Chapter. Surviving are her daughter, Gerry Stouffer, Roanoke; grandson and wife, Myron T. ``Tim'' and Sally Stouffer, Rock Hill, S.C.; three great-grandchildren, Kris, Lisa and Jeffrey; one great-great-grandson, Adam Lee; also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Oakey's South Chapel 11 a.m. Monday, with the Rev. D. Michael Meloy and the Rev. Bryan D. Oldham officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park.
