McQuail moves up at Mary Kay

BLACKSBURG - Nancy McQuail is the first sales director for Mary Kay Cosmetics in Blacksburg, a position she achieved after recruiting 12 women to become independent sales consultants and meeting a four-month sales quota.

McQuail gets to drive a maroon Pontiac Grand Am for her efforts. If she can get 50 people to sell Mary Kay products, she'll get the use of a pink Grand Prix, and if she can get 75 people, she'll get to drive a pink Cadillac. McQuail hopes to be behind the wheel of the Cadillac by the end of next year.

McQuail said she has found the New River area has plenty of opportunity for Mary Kay consultants. At a business showcase for students at Virginia Tech in August, she had 600 requests for makeovers. At a professional secretaries' meeting at Radford University last spring, she took in 250. She sells the products most often in private demonstrations in homes.
