GROUP IS PLANNING TRIP TO MEXICO

Peacework, a Blacksburg-based organization devoted to international development, is sponsoring a trip to Ixmiquilpan, Mexico, from Dec. 28 to Jan. 11, for those willing to help with Servicio Para el Desarollo Associacion Civil and its Habitat for Humanity project.

Volunteers will also take part in cultural programs and discussions about economic, political and social issues in Latin America.

A two-day visit to Mexico City is also included.

Participants must be over 18. There is no Spanish language requirement.

The $750 estimated cost includes airfare from Washington, D.C., or Greensboro, N.C. Volunteers will stay at a local community center.

Peacework is a nonprofit organization aiming to bridge cultural and political differences through volunteer interaction and education.

An informational meeting will be held Wednesday, 7 p.m., Cooper House, 305 Washington St. S.W., Blacksburg.
