GOP CANDIDATES NOT UNITED ON COUNCIL

In Western Virginia, all the Democratic candidates for the General Assembly have agreed to back the Virginia Business Higher Education Council's platform, but fewer than half of the GOP candidates have signed on.

Among the Republican candidates, here's who signed and who didn't:

Backing the council: state Sen. Brandon Bell of Roanoke County, Del. Morgan Griffith of Salem, Del. Allen Dudley of Rocky Mount, House challenger Larry Linkous of Blacksburg, House challenger Jeff Artis of Roanoke, House challenger Newell Falkinburg of Roanoke, Senate challenger Pat Cupp of Blacksburg.

Not backing the council: state Sen. Malfourd "Bo" Trumbo of Fincastle, Del. Tommy Baker of Pulaski County, House challenger Trixie Averill of Roanoke County, Senate candidate Steve Newman of Lynchburg.
