COLLEGE NOTES

ROANOKE COLLEGE has awarded Oberley Scholarships to Scott Carlesco, David McCutcheon, and Angela Short, all of Roanoke; and Marcie Flinchum of Salem.

Requirements for the Oberley Scholarship include completing an associate degree at a community college and being a full-time student at Roanoke College. The scholarship is funded by Roanoke College and provides $10,000 annually for up to two years.

JENNIFER SUSANNA STARNES, a 1992 graduate of William Byrd High School, has been inducted into the Phi Alpha Theta honorary history fraternity and the Golden Key Society, which is for students in the top 15 percent of the senior class, at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
