Hindemith centennial sonata celebration

RADFORD - Radford University will celebrate the composer Paul Hindemith's 100th birthday Tuesday, Oct. 31, at 8 p.m. Preston Hall auditorium. Faculty members will perform duo sonatas by Hindemith. Lecture on aging Thursday at Tech

BLACKSBURG - Researcher John Nesselroade will lecture on "Short-term Variability: Some Methods, Findings, and Implications for Research on Aging," on Thursday, Nov. 2, at 3 p.m., in the Wallace Hall atrium at Virginia Tech. Call the Center for Gerontology at 231-7657.

Promise Keepers group to meet

RADFORD - Promise Keepers, a national group that encourages men to be accountable to their families and churches, will have an organizational meeting at Central United Methodist Church on Wadsworth Street in Radford, Tuesday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m.

Several New River Valley churches already have individual chapters. This valleywide, ecumenical meeting will provide information about the group, said John McGuire, a member of Radford's Pentecostal Holiness Church and one of the meeting's organizers.

The meeting will explain what Promise Keepers is and how to start a church-based group. For more information, call McGuire at 639-0197.

Indian music concert at Virginia Tech

BLACKSBURG - Virginia Tech will host Indian classical music concert on Saturday, Oct. 28, at 7 p.m., in Squires Student Center, Colonial Hall.

Tickets are $3 for students and $5 for the general public.

Ghost Riders plan toy drive

PEARISBURG - The Princeton chapter of Ghost Riders will hold its annual Toys for Tots collection. Last year the club supplied Christmas gifts for 75 children. Donations can be sent to the Union Mission, Box 111, Oakvale, W.Va.. The money will be used for children whose parents are in prison. New toys can be sent to P.O. Box 85, Pearisburg, Va. 24134.
