JAMES RIVER GIRLS DEFEAT HIGHLAND

James River outscored Highland by 12 points in the second period and that sparked a 53-48 Pioneer District girls' basketball victory Thursday.

Amy Sprinkle with 12 points and Julie Firebaugh added 11 points to pace the Knights (4-12 overall, 4-5 in the district). Highland (1-13, 1-9) was led by Cindy Worcester with 12.
