CARROLL CO. HOLDS OFF DEMONS

Carroll County used its pressure defense to wear down Christiansburg and come away with a 54-39 New River District girls' basketball victory Saturday.

Jennifer Watkins had 12 points and Angie Farmer 10 to lead the Cavaliers (14-6, 2-1).

Carroll County outscored Christiansburg in every quarter and led 21-16 at halftime. The Cavaliersout scored the Blue Demons 19-11 in the third quarter.

Lisa Dalton led Christiansburg with 11. The Blue Demons are 6-13 and 1-2.
