COVINGTON GETS BLUES

Tom Luckett and Covington ran all over Parry McCluer on Saturday for a 28-7 Pioneer District victory.

Luckett ran 28 times for 122 yards and all four Cougar touchdowns.

Covington improved to 5-3 overall and 2-1 in the Pioneer District. Parry McCluer is 4-4 and 2-2.

Three Fighting Blues offensive linemen, Elgin Davis, Jeremy Garrett and Eric Mason went down with injuries in the game. Nevertheless, running back Nathan Floyd was able to run for 138 yards on 18 carries. D.J. Douglas put Parry McCluer on the scoreboard first with a 30-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.

Luckett had scoring runs of 6 and 3 yards, and a pair of 2-yard runs.
