George R., Sr., and Marion Brogan celebrated their 50th anniversary October 21, 1995. A reception was held at the Penguin Club in Salem, Va., and was hosted by their children, sons and daughters-in-law, George R., Jr. (Bob) and Betty; David and Mary; Jim and Donna; Chuck and Bobbi; and daughter Susan B. Strong. The couple was married October 24, 1945. Mrs. Brogan is the former Marion Garrett of Salem. Mr. Brogan is retired from Norfolk Southern. They are members of Green Hill Church of the Brethren. They have eight grandchildren.
Gormley anniversary
James H. and Vivian T. Gormley will celebrate their 50th anniversary today, October 29, 1995, at their home, with the celebration being hosted by their daughters. They were married October 30, 1945 in Philadelphia, Pa. They have lived the last 29 years in Roanoke, Va. She is the former Vivian Terry of Lynchburg, Va. They have three children, Frances Garrison of Santee, Calif., Samuel Gormley of Washington, D.C., and Jean Myers of Roanoke, Va.; eleven grandchildren; and 31/2 gre at-grandchildren. He is retired from Standard Parts, and she is retired from Roanoke Gas Company. They are members of St. Andrews Catholic Church and have sponsored several refugee families through the church. Mrs. Webb is the former Lillie Frances Mullins. The couple's children are Jerry Neil Webb, deceased, Edward Rueben Webb, Collinsville, Va., Kenneth Walt er Webb, Richmond, Va., and Sherri Webb Arthur, Jefferson City Missouri. They have 12 grandchildren, one deceased, and nine great-grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Webb are both retired from General Electric. They belong to Phythians, U.C.T
