Macado's to open at Grand Pavilion

The Roanoke Valley's third Macado's restaurant will open Wednesday in the Grand Pavilion Mall off Virginia 419 in Roanoke County. Macado's will occupy the upper-level space that has housed two landmark Roanoke restaurants: Charley's and Victor's.

The restaurant had been scheduled to open in July or August. Owner Richard Macher said work was delayed because his construction crew was finishing a Macado's in Greensboro, N.C.

The new restaurant, which will seat 200, will offer the same menu of sandwiches, salads and desserts as Macado's in downtown Roanoke and Salem. It will be the 10th restaurant in the Roanoke-based chain, which operates in Virginia, West Virginia and North Carolina.
